Llanrhaeadr-ym-Mochnant is a village, a community and an ecclesiastical parish in the extreme north of Powys, Wales; about 9 miles west of Oswestry and 12 miles south of Llangollen, on the B4580. It lies near the foothills of the Berwyn mountains on the river Rhaeadr. At the top end of the valley is the Pistyll Rhaeadr waterfall, one ofthe Seven Wonders of Wales in the old rhyme. One mile north of the village is the hill Moel Hen-fache . Powys - Llanfyllin 4K

A beautiful small town (don't say village to the locals, it brings out the worst!) hidden between the hillsides within the county of Powys, an ancient kingdom covering a large proportion of Wales and the English Midlands following the withdrawal of Romans from Britain. What a lovely part of the country and well worth visiting. There are lots of scenic places to visit nearby, including Lake Vrnwy.

One of the many wonders of North Wales is Pistyll Rhaeadr where peace and tranquility can be found. This is the longest waterfall in Wales and is more than twice the drop of Niagara. A beautiful location nestled into the Berwyn Mountain range at about 15 miles east of Oswestry.

At 240ft (80m) high it is the UK tallest single drop waterfall. Tan-y-Pistyll -- meaning little house under the waterfall is where my Grandmother & Mom lived during the Second World War along with Moms sister, Kath and Brother Norman.
