Kendenup is a small town in the Great Southern region of Western Australia, within the Shire of Plantagenet. It is known for its view of Porongorup and the Stirling ranges. It is 345 kilometres south east of Perth and 22 kilometres north of Mount Barker. The Great Southern Railway passes through the town, being one of the original stations on the line. At the 2006 census, Kendenup had a population of 1,290.The town was once the centre of a vast sheep station, and was, in the early years of the Western Australian colony, one of the largest farming enterprises so far established. 1. Greens Pool Denmark
Greens Pool is a sandy white beach with boulders on the south coast of Western Australia between Denmark and Walpole. This sheltered area is part of William Bay National Park and has a sandy white beach ringed by large granite boulders that prevent the swell of the Southern Ocean reaching the shoreline. The area has a car park, viewing platform and toilet facility with a reasonably steep sandy path down to the beach.

Katanning - Western Australia

Katanning is a large service centre for the northern areas of the Great Southern region of Western Australia.

The name is thought to come from an Aboriginal word 'Kartannin', meaning big meeting place. One source says the name is made up of the words 'kart' meaning head man and 'annin' meaning meeting place. Another theory suggests that the name was derived from an Aboriginal woman, Kate Anning and other suggestions are that the name may mean 'clear pool of sweet water' or 'spiders on your back'. The real meaning has been lost in time.

It is the centre of a rich agricultural area.

Earthquakes in the wheat belt seem to happen with some regularity and on October 10th 2007 a quake occurred not far south of town. It was a magnitude 4.8 and was the biggest quake for 40 years.

Collie is a nice small town with a mix of old and new buildings. There a great old train display at the visitor centre well worth a look. Also a museum up a bit further nearby.

The Town That Is Cow Crazy ( Cowaramup )

Cowaramup is a town in the South West of Western Australia, 12 kilometres north of Margaret River in the Shire of Augusta-Margaret River.
The name Cowaramup derives its name from Cowaramup Siding, which was located near the townsite, on the now disused Busselton to Augusta railway. The townsite was gazetted in 1925, originally to support the timber and dairy industries. The name is believed to be derived from Aboriginal word cowara, meaning purple-crowned lorikeet] Locals from the region often refer to the town as Cowtown, a reference to the use of cow in the town's name and its history of dairy farming.
