Australia: Travels in Tasmania
Informative and entertaining travel documentary about Australia's island state of Tasmania that covers many of the outstanding scenic, wildlife and cultural aspects of this special place. Your guide, Robert Stephens, takes you to Battery Point, Rektango, Salamanca Market and MONA (Museum of Old and New Art) in Hobart. He then heads to Bruny Island to go on Bruny Island Cruise, then to the 500 acre Inala Conservation Property of Dr, Tonia Cochran. She shows the rescued wildlife in her care that includes an Albino Bennetts Wallaby, a red neck Bennetts Wallaby and a Rufous Bellied Pademelon. Dr. Cochran also talks about her work with one of Australia's rarest birds, the forty spotted Pardolote. The tour finishes on Bruny with a visit to see a wild Echidna at South Bruny Island National Park and Lighthouse, and a dusk vigil to see the the Little or Fairy Penguins at the Bruny Island Isthmus Rookery. The tour heads north to the Midlands towns of Ross and Oatlands, and then on Launceston and Tasmania Zoo to see Tasmanian Devils up close. As the video closes, Robert heads to the Freycinet Peninsula to see Wineglass Bay. Queensland Australia
Queensland is a state of Australia that occupies the north-eastern section of the mainland continent. It is bordered by the Northern Territory to the west, South Australia to the south-west and New South Wales to the south. To the east, Queensland is bordered by the Coral Sea and Pacific Ocean. The state is Australia's second largest by area, following Western Australia, and the country's third most populous after New South Wales and Victoria.
The area was first occupied by Indigenous Australians and Torres Strait Islanders, who arrived between 40,000 and 65,000 years ago, according to various dating methods.[3][dead link] Later, Queensland was made a British Crown Colony that was separated from New South Wales on 6 June 1859, a date now celebrated state-wide as Queensland Day.
The area that currently forms the state capital, Brisbane, was originally the Moreton Bay penal colony, intended as a place for recidivist convicts who had offended while serving out their sentences in New South Wales. The state later encouraged free settlement, and today Queensland's economy is dominated by the agricultural, tourist and natural resource sectors.
The state's population is concentrated in South East Queensland, which includes Brisbane, Logan City, Redland City, Ipswich, Toowoomba, and the Gold Coast and Sunshine Coast. Other major regional centres include Cairns, Townsville, Mackay, Rockhampton, Bundaberg, Hervey Bay, Ingham and Mount Isa.
Queensland is often nicknamed the Sunshine State, since it enjoys warm weather and a sizeable portion of the state is in the tropics.

Dardanup Heritage Park - Western Australia
We had two main destinations to see outside central Bunbury. The first was Dardanup Heritage Park which was one place we have been told over and over again that we should visit.
It isn't far from Bunbury and can be reached via the Outer Ring Road and then south into Moore Road. Watch for the sign as you drive south on Moore Road.
The entry fee wasn't what I would call cheap but I soon came to realise why, when I saw the extent of the exhibits inside.
The park is probably the best single attraction in the area eclipsing even the wonder of Gnomesville. It is by far the best privately operated museum of its type that we have seen anywhere in W.A.
The collection of vehicles, machinery and memorabilia at the Heritage Park is really second to none. I would suggest that you don't go for a short visit because if you really want to enjoy this place, set aside at least two or three hours or even more.
The park opens on Sundays and Wednesdays from 9:30am to 4pm. I think it would be great if it was open more days in the week as I am sure many visitors miss out if they are not in the area during the opening times.
We shot plenty of footage at the park and will be producing a video showing you why you really should take the time to visit.
Most of the vehicles and machinery have been fully restored to working condition and it is great to see some of the vehicles being driven around. There are also live demonstrations of Tangye engines and for those who are interested in military history, the Bunbury RSL has a wonderful military collection housed in the drill hall.
This was my favourite exhibit as I have always had an interest in military equipment and history. The curator, Gerry Tyrrell, is great to talk to. He has a wealth of knowledge about the exhibits and if I had time, I would have loved to stop and chat with him a lot longer.
The drill hall houses a Leopard tank and this is one of the very few in the world that you can actually have a look inside.
If you need a break during your visit to the park, I would recommend a coffee and cake or a lunch break at the café. You will probably need a bit of a rest at some stage as there is just so much to see. I honestly cannot recommend this place highly enough. If you are in the area make sure you are there either Sunday or Wednesday. If you aren't in the area, plan a trip and go!
