Alsemberg is a rural town with about 5,300 inhabitants in the municipality of Beersel, in the province of Flemish Brabant, Belgium, situated south of Brussels. The official language is Dutch . Located close to Brussels, to Wallonia and the municipality with linguistic facilities of Sint-Genesius-Rode, Alsemberg is home to a minority of French-speakers.

1. Walibi Belgium Wavre
Walibi Belgium, formerly Walibi Wavre and then Six Flags Belgium, is a Belgian theme park located in Wavre, close to Brussels. During the 1998 to 2004 period, it was owned by Six Flags, Inc, an American theme park operator. It was later sold to Palamon Capital Partners. As of 2006, the park is owned and operated, along with Paris' Parc Astérix, by CDA Parks . The Walibi name comes from the mix of Wavre, Limal and Bièrges, three towns in the Belgian province of Walloon Brabant, where the park is situated.

Le 27 août 1997, une pièce du mécanisme de propulsion du Sirocco cassa et eu une conséquence plutôt inattendue. Le train resta coincé dans le looping pendant 1 heure 20, laissant les passagers admirer la vue la tête en bas. Cet incident ne fit pas de blessés et les quelques personnes qui furent mises en observation à l'hôpital sortirent peu de temps après. Cet incident ne fit pas décroître la popularité de l'attraction et créa même un engouement particulier pour le manège. Archive INA.

Alsemberg, Belgium, December 1975. Sarah, 8 years old, lives in a Catholic foyer. One day, her biological father, whom she has never met, comes to take her for a weekend in Paris. But it is in Morocco that Sarah wakes up, in a little town lost in the middle of the Atlas. Very soon, her father leaves, abandoning her without any explanation. She then slips into the life of a little Moroccan girl where the only schooling she is offered is that of knitting. Nine years later, we find Sarah, 17 years old, a teenager like all the others... At least, almost. We are in 1984, in the middle of a hunger revolt (The Revolt of 'Aw-bach'). Sarah's father has never sent the money he had said he would, and for the family where she is staying, each mouth to feed accounts for more and more. Sarah will have to find a way to earn her board. But then, there is also her wish of leaving, to going back to the Belgium of her childhood, the school, the books and a life that Sarah imagines free... The first feature written and directed by Kadija Leclere was selected in over 35 international film festivals.
