Arcadia is one of the regional units of Greece. It is part of the administrative region of Peloponnese. It is situated in the central and eastern part of the Peloponnese peninsula. It takes its name from the mythological figure Arcas. In Greek mythology, it was the home of the god Pan. In European Renaissance arts, Arcadia was celebrated as an unspoiled, harmonious wilderness.

    Kapsas is a community in the municipal unit of Mantineia in Arcadia on the Peloponnese peninsula in southern Greece. It is situated in a valley east of the Mainalo mountains, at 700 m elevation. It is 9 km southeast of Levidi, 11 km west of Nestani and 12 km north of Tripoli. The Greek National Road 74 passes through the village.

    Paralio Astros is a port serving the inland town of Astros, Arcadia, Greece. It is part of the municipality North Kynouria and is considered a traditional settlement. Paralio Astros possesses beaches and a harbour which can accommodate small ships. A medieval Frankish fortress commands the heights of a peninsula called The Island which juts out to form the harbour. The main square is at the foot of the castle mount. Today, Astros' principal industry is tourism. It is a popular vacation spot for inhabitants of Tripoli and other parts of Greece. As of 2011, the port had 1,043 permanent inhabitants.

    Mainalo is the name of a mountain range in the Peloponnese and of a mountain in Arcadia, Greece. The Mainalo mountain range lies in the middle of the Peloponnese. Covering most of Arcadia, it stretching from the Tripoli plateau to the Lousios river and from Megalopoli to lake Ladon, spanning 6,070 square kilometres . its highest point, Profitis Ilias , at 1,981 m , is the highest point in Arcadia. The tallest mountain in the range, Mount Mainalo, has a length of 15 to 20 kilometers from southwest of Tripoli to northeast of Vytina, and a width of 5 to 10 kilometers from Zygovisti to Kapsas. The mountain is part of a Natura 2000 site, designated in March 2011, covering an area of 226 square kilometres .     Voidokilia Beach is a popular beach in Messinia in the Mediterranean area. In the shape of the Greek letter omega , its sand forms a semicircular strip of dunes. On the land-facing side of the strip of dunes is Gialova Lagoon, an important bird habitat. The beach has been named A Place of Particular Natural Beauty. It is part of a Natura 2000 protected area.

  • 13. Lake Doxa Feneos
    Lake Doxa is an artificial lake in western Corinthia, Greece. It is situated at an elevation of 900 m, in the municipal unit Feneos, near the village Archaia Feneos. Construction was completed in the late 1990s. It is fed and drained by the small river Doxa , which empties into the plain of Feneos. In the heart of the lake on a small peninsula features a small church of Agios Fanourios. The Saint George Monastery in Feneos was relocated to higher ground, north of the lake. The lake is surrounded by pine forests.
