Florence to Siena by bus
Siena, in the heart of Italy’s Tuscany regions, is one of the great medieval cities to explore. It's a UNESCO world heritage site. It is so well preserved that it attracts visitors by the millions and yet most people don't spend the night here. They are visiting on a day trip, maybe three hours, half a day. So we’re going to show you some tips on how to get the most out of your visit. Siena has so many attractions we’ll be exploring it in several movies in our series. Most people who visit Siena are staying in nearby Florence just over an hour away by bus or by train or by driving. So we’re going to show you the best way to get from Florence to Siena, to begin your explorations. Like many travelers, you’re probably relying on public transportation to get around, like bus or train. And in getting from Florence to Siena a very convenient way to do it is by taking the bus, the SITA bus line, SITA. Their bus station is right in the heart of Florence across the street from the main Florence train station, and you can easily buy your bus ticket right on the spot at the bus station. Just get to the window, queue up maybe, if you're traveling on a weekend it'll be busier but during the week it's much better, there's fewer people, and you can get on your bus and head to Siena.
You want to be sure to catch the Rapida bus rather than the ordinary bus, because the Rapida is nonstop, it just takes an hour and 15 minutes so that's very convenient. The other bus does make three or sometimes four stops along the way, it could take you an hour and 40 minutes, so get the Rapida, it's the same price and more convenient. There is generally one bus an hour and you can check the schedule on their website. Lately they're leaving it 9:10, 10:10, 11:10 AM for example. And it's usually not too busy, especially if you're traveling during the week and during the off-season. On a weekend it'll be a lot more busy and you might have to stand – some people stand all away, it's possible, but you'd much rather have a seat. The bus seats are quite comfortable and you get a lovely view out the big windows of the rolling hills of Tuscany as you drive along. Most of the route is on a freeway so it's not the most scenic journey in the world but you do get nice glimpses of the vineyards and a few olive trees here and there, and the green hills in the distance. You might even notice of fortified hilltop village off on the right side of the bus. You could travel from Florence to Siena by train but it's really not convenient. It takes two hours, which is much longer than the bus ride, and when you get to Siena the train station is not in the Old Town – it's down below and it could take you a half an hour walking uphill to get to the Siena Old Town, so in this case going by bus between Florence and Siena is the best way to go. Upon arrival in Siena you'll probably want to use the facilities at the bus ticket office. They've got a pay toilet which is very clean and very convenient, and you could buy your return ticket if you didn't already purchase a round-trip ticket back in Florence. And if you're staying overnight in Siena for a few days you'll find that you can ride the bus to some of the other nearby towns of Tuscany. It's a very easy walk from this bus stop into the Old Town – it will only take a few minutes and then right away you're in the pedestrian zone. 5. Crossing the Road/Drivers: The streets are crazy so be prepared for some hair raising experiences.
Top Five Loves.
1. The Super Friendly People: The Italians are great! They will take you in and are always so proud of their towns and history.
2. The food and wine: Its Italy, eat drink and be merry.
3. Cheap public transport: the trains between towns and the metro and buses in the cities are cheap and effective.
4. The weather: you will get great weather where ever you do go.
5. Its Italy! The history, the museums, the landscape, its all just beyond words.

Vulture Senza Tempo ( Timeless Vulture) is part of a series of video to tell about a hidden side of Italy.
Italy is a fascinating country, known for its history and its people, its food and culture. But Italy is also a beautiful peninsula, with a Mediterranean nature that makes it very special.
“Timeless Italy” is made up of places considered jewels of the world heritage and protected accordingly. They are places where time seems to come to a standstill and where the hand of man is nonexistent. Places where the rhythms of nature are marked by the rising and setting sun and by the traveling stars. For us, these places are timeless and they endure and we are here to tell you about them.
Our project continues by discovering the beauty of Vulture area, in Southern Italy. Monte Vulture is a rather small and inactive volcano that last erupted about half a million years ago.
Here we discovered and filmed two beautiful volcanic crater lakes, surrounded by thick, green vegetation, we tried to immortalize the beauty of San Fele natural waterfalls and the stars of a wonderful summer sky .
L’Italia senza tempo è fatta di luoghi, spesso a portata di mano ma molto molto sconosciuti. Gioielli del patrimonio naturale mondiale, quasi sempre aree protette, luoghi in cui il tempo si azzera, la mano dell’uomo si allontana, i ritmi divengono naturali e scanditi dal sorgere e calar del sole, dal passaggio delle stelle.
ll racconto dell’Italia senza tempo continua dal Vulture, siamo ancora nel sud dell’Italia. Il Monte Vulture è un piccolo vulcano inattivo, qui abbiamo scoperto e filmato due incantevoli laghi che si trovano proprio sul suo cratere e che sono circondati da una fitta e verde vegetazione. Abbiamo cercato di immortalare la bellezza delle cascate naturali di San Fele e di un meraviglioso cielo stellato estivo.

LAST DAY IN VENICE & BUS TO FLORENCE! - ITALY 2016!
My last day in Venice had finally arrived and I decided to just take it easy. After booking my bus transportation from Venice to Florence, I set off into the city one last time to adventure about. Yet again, the Floating City did not disappoint. The canals, the houses, the buildings, the shops, they were all just as amazing as when I first saw them.
Once I had got my fill I sat down on the edge of a canal in front of a nice wine bar and watched the city go by until it was time for me to catch the bus. For me, this was the perfect end to a perfect few days. A serene, relaxing, laid back, wine filled afternoon in a city I had dreamed about since before I can remember.
Then, as if being woken from a dream, it was time to grab my stuff and go. A bus set to go to Florence was waiting for me on Tronchetto island. And as so often happens when travelling, the rest of my day was spent bussing. It wasn't a difficult journey because I had music, great views and a lot to dream, about but it was long. That said, I was excited to be heading for a new, exciting city that I had never been to, and almost wasn't going to go to, Florence! Enjoy!

Ok, had to take a quick shot of the pumps. One set is at least in a media or just off the side out of the right of way, but the other is literally a side walk gas station. Very interesting solution to places that obviously had little interest in leaving room for such things back during initial engineering of the streets :)
