Балаши́ха — город в России, в центре Московской области, крупнейший город области. Образует город областного значения с административной территорией и одноимённое муниципальное образование городской округ Балашиха. Основан в 1830 году. Население города составляет 468 221 чел. (2018). Город занимает обширную территорию к востоку от Москвы, простираясь с севера на юг на 16 км, а с запада на восток — на 19 км. Город расположен на реках Пехорке и Горенке.
Балашиха по состоянию на 1 января 2016 года в России стала четвёртым по численности населения из числа крупнейших городов, не являющихся центрами субъектов федерации (после Тольятти, Новокузнецка и Набережных Челнов).

(2018). The city occupies a vast territory east of Moscow, extending from north to south for 16 km, and from west to east for 19 km. The city is located on the Pekhorka and Gorenka rivers.
Balashikha as of January 1, 2016 in Russia became the fourth in terms of population among the largest cities that are not centers of the subjects of the federation (after Tolyatti, Novokuznetsk and Naberezhnye Chelny).
