Fabian Cancellara , nicknamed Spartacus, is a Swiss former professional road bicycle racer who last rode for UCI ProTeam Trek–Segafredo. He was born in Wohlen bei Bern, Switzerland. Cancellara began road cycling after falling in love with an old bike at the age of thirteen. After that, he began to take the sport more seriously and won two consecutive World Junior Time Trial Championships in 1998 and 1999. At age nineteen he turned professional and signed with the Mapei–Quick-Step team, where he rode as a stagiaire. Padula Charterhouse, in Italian Certosa di Padula , is a large Carthusian monastery, or charterhouse, located in the town of Padula, in the Cilento National Park, in Southern Italy. It is a World Heritage site. The monastery is the largest in Italy. Its building history covers 450 years, but the principal parts of the buildings are in Baroque style. It is a very large monastery, comprising 51,500 m² , with 320 rooms and halls.

Podium Girl Debut at Japanese Road Bike Race | Tour De Morikoro

While I've spent my fare share of glory standing on the podium at cycling races, today was a bit of a new experience for me.. Instead, I was presenting the awards to the riders and attempting to look pretty. Not a bad first attempt as a podium girl, but I think they should've left the job up to the Japanese cheerleaders since they were much more attractive than 3 random cycling foreigners ;)

This event was the 10th annual BikeNavi Grand Prix 2018 (aka Tour de Moricoro), which is held at the Moricoro Park cycling course, which is a 5km circuit closed off to cars and walkers, making it a great place to ride (and race) road bikes!

I was volunteering today as a rolling course marshal, and so I was cycling throughout both the morning and afternoon enduro road bike races. Here's some more information about the event for those interested.

They hold road races on this course every few months, though they are sometimes done through different race promoters.

Also, a big thanks again to Zac from BMC Japan for lending me this great bike (SLR 01) to use for the event since my main road bike was still in the shop.
