Random Cheap fun day out during our NZ Summer. First climbing up to the Wairere Falls (2 hour hike) Summit getting soaked at the end.
Then a quick visit to the beautiful blue springs of Putaruru where around 70% of New Zealands' bottled water comes from.. Probably the clearest/cleanest water you will find anywhere

Sacred New Zealand #4 Weka Pass Maori Rock Paintings

To get to Weka Pass you drive 1 hour north of Christchurch to Waikari. The path follows the old railway west, you will find the beginning a bit up the hill from the takeaway shop and hair dresser. If you follow the signs it takes about 45 minutes up a steep hill. But it's worth the climb.

Twin Coast Cycle Trail NZ

We completed the middle section of the Twin Coast Cycle trail, 48km's from Okaihau to Kawakawa.

(*Tip, the trail consists of many small 'gates' to go through, which can make it difficult if you are carrying luggage or a trailer behind your bike. We came across a few different people that were struggling as they had to either remove every item of luggage to get through the gates, or lift trailers over the gates, which is not easy)

Kerikeri Half Marathon 2016
