    The Zahir Mosque is a mosque in Alor Setar, Kota Setar, Kedah, Malaysia. It is the state mosque of Kedah. The mosque is one of the grandest and oldest mosques in Malaysia, built in 1912. The design was inspired by the vision of the late Sultan Muhammad Jiwa Zainal Abidin II who was inspired by the Azizi Mosque of the Langkat Sultanate in North Sumatra. The state's Quran reading competition is held annually within the premises of the mosque. This mosque has been voted the top 10 most beautiful mosques in the world.

    The Kek Lok Si Temple is a Buddhist temple situated in Air Itam, Penang, Malaysia, facing the sea, and is one of the best known temples on the island.     The Snake Temple is situated in Sungai Kluang, Bayan Lepas, Southwest Penang Island, Penang, Malaysia and is perhaps the only temple of its kind in the world. The temple is filled with the smoke of burning incense and a variety of pit vipers. The vipers are believed to be rendered harmless by the sacred smoke, but as a safety precaution, the snakes have also been de-venomed but still have their fangs intact.
