Langlois is an unincorporated community and census-designated place in Curry County, Oregon, United States, on the Oregon Coast established in 1881. It had a population of 177 in 2010. Langlois was once famous for its blue cheese, until the cheese factory burned down in the 1950s. It was never rebuilt. Langlois was named for William Langlois, an early Oregon pioneer. As phonetically spelled in the 1860 Federal Census, Port Oxford Precint [sic], page 110, the name was pronounced Langless, as it is most commonly pronounced today by residents.Langlois is located spanning U.S. Route 101, 41 miles by road north of Gold Beach. 1. Cape Blanco Lighthouse Port Orford
Cape Blanco is a prominent headland on the Pacific Ocean coast of southwestern Oregon in the United States, forming the westernmost point in the state. Cape Blanco extends further west than any point of land in the contiguous United States except Cape Alava, in Washington. The cape is part of Cape Blanco State Park and is the location of the Cape Blanco Light, first lit in 1870.The cape may have been named by explorer Martín de Aguilar in 1603 for its appearance, as blanco means white in Spanish. In 1775, Juan Francisco de la Bodega y Quadra named the point Cabo Diligensias. It was later renamed Cape Orford by Captain George Vancouver in 1792 but this name fell into disuse and Cape Blanco became the common usage.

Visit to Bandon Oregon Part 1 - Bullards Beach SP

On our annual return snowbird RV trip up the Oregon Coast this spring we stopped at a favorite little coastal town called Bandon Bandon-by-the-Sea.

I'm putting together a blog post about our stay which will include a 3 part video playlist showcasing the Bullards Beach State Park we stayed at, the cool little historical town district and of course the wickedly cool beach it is most famous for.

In this first video. I'll show you around the state park we camped in including an old historic lighthouse, the campground, and a hike / dog walk on a trail out to Bullards Beach.
