Most Underrated City in Croatia - Makarska
We lived in Croatia for a month and for a while we ended up in Makarska! Makarska surprised us, we didn't expect it to be one of our favorite places in the country. There is just so much to do there-the best beaches in Croatia (in my opinion) as well as mountain climbing, a huge carnival every day, and gorgeous old town. But it still maintains its history and culture with frequent traditional performances and so many small businesses run by local people or families. And so many CATS!!
This video is basically a tour of Makarska's old town and surroundings, mixed with us being really silly.

Hello guys! I'm an American girl named Nwando. Welcome to my Makarska Riviera Beaches travel vlog / diary. Looking for the top things to do in Makarska? Well then... I hope this Makarska video vlog can help guide your travel!
Also, I visited Tućepi, so I vlog Tucepi as well! The Tucepi travel video parts are the last few minutes of the video if you wanna skip. And obviously, I met an amazing Croatian guy while I was there and had a lovely Croatian holiday romance, so this is truly a Makarska travel diary as it's a very personal video I suppose. LOL
I am so happy with my Makarska travel. I was there for three days. I traveled there by taking an 8am bus from Mostar and I arrived by 11am. The bus took about 3 hours. Makarska is between Split and Dubrovnik, and although it is busy with tourists from Eastern Europe like Poland, Czech Republic and Serbia, I did not come across too many Western tourists. That is why I chose to go there instead of Split or Dubrovnik or Hvar.
I stayed in a hostel which was located in the old town. I believe the hostel is called Hostel Makarska. Another popular hostel is Hostel Yeti. Makarska is not very big and thus it is very easy to take a 5 minute walk and reach the beach. No matter where you stay, you are also a 5-8 minute walk from the bus stop as well. It's so easy to get around. There are also great hotels near the beach path like Hotel Dalmacija.
I really wanted to visit nearby Omis / Omiš, and vlog Omis as well, but I ran out of time. I will have to save an Omis vlog, diary, whatever you want to call it for next year. :D ….
Makarska is in a really cool location as well because it sits on the mainland across the islands Hvar and Brac. Had I just taken a short ferry, this cloud have been a Hvar vlog and a Brac vlog as well, but just like Omis, I plan to be back next year and I will definitely have a Hvar vlog and Brac vlog up as well. Can't wait.
This country is so stunning. I love all the videos where guys travel to Croatia on pick -up holiday, and I guess this is kind of the reverse where the girl gets the guy, lol. That's a joke. Come on. This is no pick up Croatia video. But I think it is important for women to share the truth of their travel experiences. And as you can see… because many people ask me about this,,, being black in Croatia is not an issue at all. So come to Croatia because being black in Croatia -- no one cares dude! There is ZERO racism in Croatia.
I can not wait to return to Makarska and visit more of the Dalmacija / Dalmatia region of this beautiful country!
