The Historic Columbia River Highway is an approximately 75-mile-long scenic highway in the U.S. state of Oregon between Troutdale and The Dalles, built through the Columbia River Gorge between 1913 and 1922. As the first planned scenic roadway in the United States, it has been recognized in numerous ways, including a listing on the National Register of Historic Places as a National Historic Landmark, designation as a National Historic Civil Engineering Landmark by the American Society of Civil Engineers, and considered a destination unto itself as an All-American Road by the U.S. Secretary of Transportation. Multnomah Falls is a waterfall located in the Columbia River Gorge, east of Troutdale, between Corbett and Dodson, Oregon, United States. The waterfall is accessible from the Historic Columbia River Highway and Interstate 84. Spanning two tiers on basalt cliffs, it is the tallest waterfall in the state of Oregon at 620 ft in height.The land surrounding the falls was developed by Simon Benson in the early-twentieth century, with a pathway, viewing bridge, and adjacent lodge being constructed in 1925. The Best 3-4 hour drive starting in Portland Oregon. I have been taking people on what I call The Fruit Loop for years.

The Columbia River Gorge along with Mt. Hood National Forest is an amazing sight to see. On this 4 hour journey, you are going to be to see what it's like around Portland, Oregon.

Starting in Portland head east on I-84.
1st Stop: Portland Women's Forum
2nd Stop: Larch Mountain (View 5 Volaincos)
3rd Stop: Multnomah Falls (602' Water Fall)
4th Stop: Bonneville Dam Fish Hatchery (See the 10+ foot White Surgeon)
5th Stop: Big Horse Brew Pud (Great view of the kite borders)
6th Stop: Timberline Lodge on Mt. Hood
Head back to Portland on Hwy US-26

My names Daniel Terry. This was a fun video to make. My Bio-Mom Kellie flew in from Iowa for her first visit on my birthday weekend. This was the 1st day of a 3 day weekend that included jumping out of an Airplane (my 1st time) and a trip to the coast. The only thing that could have made it better was more time to go out to see Crater Lake.
No matter how many times I take this drive (The FruitLoop I am in awe of the beauty of the Pacific North West.
