1. Castello di Vezio Perledo
Castello di Vezio is a castle located nearby Varenna and Perledo, northern Italy. Characterized in the main tower by square merlons, similar to Cly Castle in Aosta Valley, it commands the Lake Como. It was once connected by walls to the village of Varenna below.

Location: Longarone, Italy

VS. In the Piave River Valley where the town of Longarone used to be, now the wooden buildings are smashed and all that can be seen are pieces of wood like matchsticks strewn across the valley. VS. The mud covered valley with rescue work in progress. VS. The valley with half of its buildings still standing on the higher ground, railway lines are bent and twisted. MS. Dead cow at roadside, pan up mountain. (FG.)
