Parkville is a city in Platte County, Missouri, United States and is a part of the Kansas City Metropolitan Area. The population was 5,554 at the 2010 census. Parkville is known for its antique shops, art galleries, and historic downtown. The city is home to Park University, English Landing Park and National Golf Club of Kansas City and has reservoir named Riss Lake.

1. Harpers Ferry National Historical Park Harpers Ferry
John Brown's raid on Harpers Ferry was an effort by armed abolitionist John Brown to initiate an armed slave revolt in 1859 by taking over a United States arsenal at Harpers Ferry, Virginia. Brown's party of 22 was defeated by a company of U.S. Marines, led by First Lieutenant Israel Greene. Colonel Robert E. Lee was in overall command of the operation to retake the arsenal. John Brown had originally asked Harriet Tubman and Frederick Douglass, both of whom he had met in his transformative years as an abolitionist in Springfield, Massachusetts, to join him in his raid, but Tubman was prevented by illness and Douglass declined, as he believed Brown's plan would fail.

Parkville is named for George S. Park who bought the steamboat landing concession on the Missouri River in 1838 shortly after the Platte Purchase from the Native Americans opened the area for settlement.

Some Recommendations:
Peach Cobbler: Did not like it at all. No fruit - all crust. Didn't taste good at all!
Banana Split Pie - it was so-so. Would not get it again (doesn't mean you won't like it).
Turkey Melt - which is like a grilled cheese sandwich with turkey on it - was greasy, but otherwise, very good! Would have been much better if it hadn't been so greasy.
Cheese omelette with hash browns and biscuit - was EXCELLENT! The omelette and hash browns were FLUFFY! HUGE biscuit too! Couldn't eat it all.

Jesse James Bank Museum:
Site of the first U.S. daylight, peacetime bank robbery. Located on the northeast corner of the historic Liberty Square. Nominal admission charge. Open 10am-4pm Mon.-Sat.

Driving from Omaha, NE to Kansas City, MO via I29

Last night in Omaha was fun; Saw a great show, and discovered a new Gretna. But, I must keep moving on. Today we'll hit Missouri by going through Kansas City, and then move on to Kansas going through Lawrence, Topeka, and Alma before settling for the night in Salina, Kansas.

My Sony HXR-NX100 rode shotgun on a tripod shooting at 4 fps. The tripod was held in place using bungee cords giving it I nice smooth feel, even on bumpy roads. I also used this same camera to shoot various scenes around the country, and to interview folks.
