A Tourist's guide to Port-au-Prince, Haiti
With some trepidation, I fly into the Haitian capital. My guide picks up me up and then whips me through some Port-au-Prince's highlights.
Sights include the Iron Market, the voodoo statues in the Hotel Oloffson, the earthquake damaged cathedral, Place Jean-Jacques Dessalines, Place du Marron (home to some great statues), the view of the colourful hillside homes and the observatory, which offered a great view of the city.
All in all, a great trip, fuelled by a touch of apprehension and sprinkled with a dash of excitement. If you can ignore the huge amounts of trash, and the sheer amount of chaos, then Port-au-Prince might be the place for you.

Head to the Montreal Museum of Fine Arts for a look at some of the free current exhibitions. We're here at Park Mount Royal to walk around and head to the lookout point for amazing city views. We chose to stay in the neighborhood of Le Plateau-Mont Royal. On Sunday afternoons you'll find a huge drumming circle on the east end of Mount Royal called Tam Tams. McGill University is one of the most prestigious universities in all of Canada. Poutine, a French Canadian dish, it is basically french fries with gravy and cheese curds on top. For a taste of French charm, wander down the cobbled streets of Old Montreal. Tonight we're at the Cirque du Soleil for a circus performance. The biodome is a popular attraction for families with children. Olympic Stadium is the former home of the Montreal Expos. The botanical gardens are home to beautiful gardens. Bell Center is home to the Montreal Canadiens, one of the most celebrated NHL franchises. There is no better place ot eat smoked meat in Montreal than Schwartz. The Notre Dame Basilica is located in the historic district of Old Montreal. If you enjoy checking out graffiti around Saint Catherine street which is also a shopping district. Eat St. Viateur bagels, which are really famous here in Montreal. A great way to get around the city is by Bixi bike. Montreal's Old Port is worth a wander. 1. SHUT UP! PART 1.DON’T TRY TO BE FUNNY.
Border guards are not your friends, and it’s highly unlikely that they moonlight as talent scouts for comedy clubs. This is the wrong moment to make a buddy or tell jokes. Stay respectful and succinct and save the complaints for the drive away from the checkpoint.
2. SHUT UP! PART 2. DON’T DISCLOSE MORE THAN YOU’RE ASKED.
Answer all of the guard’s questions, but avoid getting chatty about your plans if you don’t have to. Thinking of catching up on some work on your laptop a little during your vacation, for example? Don’t mention that. There is no such thing as an American working holiday visa, although there are plenty of options for working holidays in Canada, or for Canadians travelling to other parts of the world. If you’re going to the U.S, however, best to say that your laptop is just for fantasy sports and YouTube. Planning a trip to propose to your girlfriend? Congratulations. But...
3. EVEN YOUR SEX LIFE MATTERS.DON’T MENTION THAT YOU’RE PLANNING TO MARRY A CITIZEN OR RESIDENT OF ANOTHER COUNTRY WHEN YOU’RE ENTERING IT.
Even if you’re in the middle of the appropriate application process, talking about your romantic attachments will not warm the hearts of the border guards and it will get you flagged as a potential risk for illegal immigration. This goes for crossing the US and Canadian border in either direction. Say that you’re visiting “a friend” and save the flaunting of your ring for the day when you’re married or your citizenship and residency information is fully settled.
4. DEVELOP A “CREATIVE VOCABULARY.”DON’T BE IN A RUSH TO EXPLAIN EVERY DETAIL ABOUT THE GOODS YOU’RE BRINGING WITH YOU, BUT KNOW THE RISKS OF INCOMPLETE DISCLOSURE
It can be mighty tempting to try to bring a few extra items back from your trip without declaring them. You can push the limits of the personal exemption (see above for the exact amounts), or you can declare the extras and pay the duties. If you’re pushing it, try to describe dollar values using words like “approximately,” “about,” or “around” if you’re just above the personal exemption limits. Remove the tags, and ditch the shopping bags and receipts. If you are searched and the agents find something that you haven’t declared, it’s most likely that you’ll be delayed and that you’ll have to pay the duty. Hey, people forget the things they buy all the time, right? Mistakes can happen. If you push it too far, however, and you get caught making a false declaration crossing to Canada, you might also have your goods seized or you might have to pay a penalty that’s an extra 25-80% of the goods’ value. The worst case scenario is that you’ll lose the goods permanently and have your vehicle impounded. You’ll also almost certainly find yourself subject to more intense scrutiny at future crossings. Getting caught with small amounts over the limit shouldn’t have lasting repercussions, unless you’re busted repeatedly. Now you know the risks. Govern yourself accordingly. Bonus tip: Never try to conceal anything you just bought at the duty-free shop. They take your name and license plate number and their database is coordinated with the border guards on each side, so lying in this case makes for a guaranteed delay. Don’t do it.
5. A CRIMINAL MIND, IT’S ALL I’VE EVER KNOWN.DON’T LIE ABOUT YOUR CRIMINAL PAST.
If you have run into legal trouble, check to see if it’s serious enough to prevent you from travelling. Each country has its own regulations on this, and most countries reserve the right to deny anyone the right to entry for any reason. If you are denied entry crossing from Canada to US, consider applying for a US Entry Waiver. If you are worried you can’t enter Canada from the US, consider getting a temporary resident permit. The process rules and process for both the US Entry Waiver and the TRP can be complicated and difficult, so you can always seek help.

10 THINGS TO DO IN QUEBEC CITY | Travel Guide
If you want to experience a Canadian city with a bit of French flair, then you need to visit Quebec City.
Situated on the banks of the St. Lawrence River, this is a town with good looks and a big heart.
We only had a day and a half there, but that was enough time to wander the cobbled streets, catch some street performances, and visit many of the top attractions.

1) Plains of Abraham
We are no standing on the Plains of Abraham and this is the location where the battle between the English and the French was fought. This was the battle that ultimately determined the fate of North America.
This battle was part of the Seven Years' War and it would be the deciding factor over the fate of New France, influencing the later creation of Canada.
2) Citadelle
We just finished visiting the Citadelle and if you get the chance I would suggest you try to be here by ten in the morning. That is when they have the changing of the guard ceremony and it is a lot of fun to watch. They even have a pet goat that takes part so it really is a lot of fun.
The Citadelle is the largest British fortress in North America.
3) Chateau Frontenac
Now we're visiting Chateau Frontenac, one of the most famous hotels in all of Canada. It is a stunner. It is just absolutely beautiful. We're trying to capture it from different vantage points.
The hotel was designed by American architect Bruce Price. It was one of many château style hotels built for the Canadian Pacific Railway company with the goal of promoting luxury tourism. Today, a night at the Frontenac starts at $379 dollars.
4) Terrasse Dufferin
This boardwalk that we are currently standing on is called Terrasse Dufferin and it is a great place for a stroll. You can catch some street performers, eat some ice cream and you also get some great views of the river below.
The promenade sits right outside the Chateau Frontenac and it is 425 meters in length. You can also catch a funicular nearby which takes you to the Old Lower Town.
5) Quartier Petit Champlain
Petit Champlain is a neighbourhood located in the Old Lower Town. It is quite picturesque, especially when viewed from the Breakneck Stairs. The narrow cobbled streets are lined with small shops and cafes. It's a really fun neighbourhood to explore with a camera in hand.
6) Basilica Notre Dame de Quebec
The Basilica Notre Dame de Quebec is the oldest church in the Americas north of Mexico. If you want to get a sneak peek at the crypt, you'll have to sign up for a guided tour.
7) Rue St. Paul
We're now walking along Rue St. Paul and this is a great place to browse for antiques and you can buy some souvenirs.
Just don't leave your visit to the end of the day because you may find that a lot of the shops have closed.
8) Museum of Civilization
The Museum of Civilization is a great place to learn about the Aboriginal peoples of Quebec.
9) Port of Quebec
We're here now in the Port Area. This is a great place to take a ferry. A lot of people come here to exercise, to fish and just to enjoy the views of the St. Lawrence river. It is a really relaxing place.
The Port of Quebec is the oldest in all of Canada and it played an important role in developing the region. Today you'll find that cruises have replaced much of the former freight traffic.
10) Catch a Street Performance
And lastly, you can't come to Quebec City and not catch a street performance! The city celebrates its performers and you'll often find acts taking place in the town square and parks. Grab a seat for some live entertainment and don't forget to leave a tip at the end!

Salut ! Aujourd'hui on vous emmène faire le tour de Toronto en passant par les 10 attractions qu'il ne faut surtout pas manquer lorsque l'on visite la plus grande ville du Canada. Bon voyage !
#1 - CN Tower
La tour CN est une tour de 555,33 mètres située dans le centre de Toronto, au Canada, qui est devenue l'emblème de cette ville. La tour est parfois appelée la tour du Canadien National, car la compagnie ferroviaire du Canadien National (CN) était propriétaire de la tour.
#2 - Casa Loma
La Casa Loma est une maison bourgeoise située sur la colline de Davenport à Toronto.

Les îles de Toronto forment un archipel comptant 15 petites îles situées à 1.6 km de distance au sud du centre-ville de Toronto, sur le lac Ontario parmi lesquelles on retrouve les îles Ward et Algonquin.
