Raeren is a municipality located in the Belgian province of Liège. It was part of Germany until the First World War, after which it became part of Belgium. It is one of several towns in Eastern Belgium which still predominantly speak German. On January 1, 2006, Raeren had a total population of 10,091. The total area is 74.21 km² which gives a population density of 136 inhabitants per km². The municipality consists of the following sub-municipalities: Eynatten, Hauset, and Raeren proper. Mathias Cormann, the Minister for Finance of Australia, was raised in Raeren.

Walibi Belgium, formerly Walibi Wavre and then Six Flags Belgium, is a Belgian theme park located in Wavre, close to Brussels. During the 1998 to 2004 period, it was owned by Six Flags, Inc, an American theme park operator. It was later sold to Palamon Capital Partners. As of 2006, the park is owned and operated, along with Paris' Parc Astérix, by CDA Parks . The Walibi name comes from the mix of Wavre, Limal and Bièrges, three towns in the Belgian province of Walloon Brabant, where the park is situated.

De vestingen van Ieper zijn de best bewaarde van ons land. Hun verhaal begint tien eeuwen geleden, toen de stad ontstond aan de oevers van de Ieperlee. Eerst waren de vestingen niet meer dan een aarden wal met grachten. Later kwamen er stenen muren en torens. Nog later groeiden ze uit tot een complex geheel van bastions, voorversterkingen, grachten en muren.De route start aan het onthaalcentrum De Kazematten, waar je ook de gratis tentoonstelling over tien eeuwen vestingen in Ieper kan bezoeken.
