The Region of Southern Denmark is an administrative region of Denmark established on Monday 1 January 2007 as part of the 2007 Danish Municipal Reform, which abolished the traditional counties and set up five larger regions. At the same time, smaller municipalities were merged into larger units, cutting the number of municipalities from 271 before 1 January 2006 to 98. The Region of Southern Denmark has 22 municipalities.     Maribo is a town in Lolland municipality in Region Sjælland on the island of Lolland in south Denmark. To the north of Maribo is Nørresø and to the south is Søndersø . Søndersø is the largest lake on Lolland. There are more islands in Søndersø than in any other lake in Denmark. These include the islands of Fruerø, Hestø, Præstø, Borgø, Lindø, Askø and Worsaaes. This is part of the Maribo Lakes Nature Park, which spans the towns of Maribo, Holeby, Sakskøbing and Nysted.

    Arent Greve was a Norwegian jeweler, goldsmith and painter.Arent Jansen Greve was born in Bergen, Norway. He was one of the sons of goldsmith Jan Arentsen Greve and his wife Maren, née Engelsdorph . He took his goldsmith's education at Fabricius in Copenhagen from 1753. He later traveled extensively in France, German and Italian states to study. He later returned to Bergen, where he acquired burghership in January 1774.     Præstø is a town with a population of 3,821 and a former municipality in Vordingborg Municipality in Region Sjælland on the east coast of the island of Zealand near its southwestern tip in south Denmark. The former Præstø municipality included the islands of Maderne, Storeholm, and Lilleholm which lie in Præstø Fjord. The former municipality covered an area of 107 km², and had a total population of 7,608 . Its last mayor was Ole Møller Madsen, a member of the Venstre political party.
