The Region of Southern Denmark is an administrative region of Denmark established on Monday 1 January 2007 as part of the 2007 Danish Municipal Reform, which abolished the traditional counties and set up five larger regions. At the same time, smaller municipalities were merged into larger units, cutting the number of municipalities from 271 before 1 January 2006 to 98. The Region of Southern Denmark has 22 municipalities.   • 2. Thorsvang - Danmarks Samlermuseum Stege
    Thorsvang, Danmarks Samlermuseum is located in the Lendemarke district of Stege on the Danish island of Møn. It displays a wide variety of old items collected over the years principally by Henrik Hjortkær. They are displayed in a former powdered milk factory from 1919 which has been fitted out to represent a series of small shops typical of the early 20th century.

    Fuglsang Art Museum is an art museum set in rural surroundings in Guldborgsund Municipality on the island of Lolland in Denmark. It is part of the Fuglsang Cultural Centre. The museum features Danish art with an emphasis on artists and motifs of local provenance. The museum is located in a purpose-built building, designed by Tony Fretton. Noted for its integration with the surrounding architecture and landscape, the museum building won a 2009 RIBA European Award and was short-listed for the Stirling prize the same year.

    The Maribo Open-Air Museum is a museum located on the western outskirts of Maribo on the Danish island of Lolland. It is located 1 kilometre from Torvet, to the west of the Maribo Sø Camping site and oak woodland, near the northern banks of Søndersø Lake. Opened in 1927, the museum provides a picture of village life in Lolland and Falster in the 19th century. It is the third oldest open-air museum in Denmark, and is in the backdrop of the Maribo Lakes Nature Park. Its 13 attractions include a windmill and a smithy.
