Svishtov is a town in northern Bulgaria, located in Veliko Tarnovo Province on the right bank of the Danube river opposite the Romanian town of Zimnicea. It is the administrative centre of the homonymous Svishtov Municipality. With a population of 35,923 inhabitants, as of December 2009, the town is the second-largest in the province after the city of Veliko Tarnovo and before Gorna Oryahovitsa.

1. The Covered Bridge Lovech
The Covered Bridge is, as the name suggests, a covered bridge in the town of Lovech, Bulgaria. The bridge crosses the Osam River, connecting the old and new town parts of Lovech, being possibly the most recognisable symbol of the town. The bridge is one of the few remaining in Europe that have shops on them. Other examples include the Krämerbrücke in Erfurt and the Ponte Vecchio in Florence. After the bridge that then served the town was almost completely destroyed by a flood in 1872, the local police chief ordered the famous Bulgarian master builder Kolyu Ficheto to construct a new one. Ficheto personally chose the material for the wooden bridge. My plans to go out of town this weekend slightly collapsed, but I was determined to go film something, and the city was on lock-down due to the Pope’s visit, so I didn’t want to risk filming any central locations, so I wanted to get a better view of a place, that I actually have visited before with my drone. The videos were short, unedited and I had considerably lower standards, so had to go and take more comprehensive shoot in this peculiar location. So this here is the tallest building in Bulgaria, towering at 126 meters. It surely is not as impressive in height as one might expect for a leader of height in a whole country but I think it is beautiful and the background created by the beautiful mountain as well as the green open spaces in these outskirts created some stunning shots. The building itself is called Capital Fort and is part of an office complex that is constantly expanding. One particular building of the complex is currently under construction right behind and we take a spin over the cranes while it is still a small one, because this construction is planned to be the new tallest building in Bulgaria when it is completed in 2021. The city highway passes right in front of the building going into the center. The districts of Druzhba, Mladost and Gorublyane surround the office buildings and the beautiful Vitosha mountain decorates the scenery in the distance with rainy dark clouds suggesting that soon it might not be safe to fly.

Pleven, modern and pretty Military City

Pleven is a modern and pretty Military City in north central Bulgaria. It is home to modern shopping centres, a modern bus network and also a huge museum housed in the old miltary barracks. The centre has a large pedestrianised zone consisting of park space and a shopping street.

Rila Monastery in Bulgaria (UNESCO World Heritage Site)

The Rila Monastery (Monastery of Saint Ivan of Rila) was founded in the 10th century and it's the largest Orthodox monastery in Bulgaria. It's located at around 120km south of Sofia.
Every day there is only one public bus that goes and comes back from Sofia to The Rila Monastery.
Instead of taking the public bus, we decided to go there by taking an organized tour by Traventuria. The tour included both the visit to the Rila Monastery and The Boyana Church (both UNESCO World Heritage Sites).
The whole tour lasted around 7-8 hours. The bus was very confortable and with air conditioning. The guide was helpful and nice.
The cost per person was 30 € or 60 Lehv.
If you want to go and visit the Rila Monastery taking an organized tour by Traventuria is a great choice.
