Tannourine is a Lebanese municipality located in the Batroun District, part of the Mohafazah of North-Lebanon, 75 km from the capital Beirut. Tannourine’s name stems from the town's geography, which resemble the convex form of an oven called the tannoor. The ine is probably in proportion to the presence of 2 areas that make up this town, the Lower Tannourine and the upper Tannourine areas, From here immigrated the Lebanese politician to Colombia José Antonio Turbay Jorge because of the Ottoman Empire and being a second-level cousin of the former president of Colombia Julio César Turbay.

  • 1. Al-Shouf Cedar Nature Reserve Barouk
    Al Shouf Cedar Nature Reserve is a nature reserve in the Chouf District of Lebanon. It is located on the slopes of Barouk mountain and has an area of 550 km2 , nearly 5.3% of the Lebanese territory. The reserve contains the Lebanon cedar forests of Barouk, Maaser el Shouf and Ain Zhalta-Bmohray. It is an Important Bird Area and Eco-tourism area. It hosts 32 species of wild mammals, 200 species of birds, and 500 species of plants.
