Me, the seagull, and the Atlantic Ocean in Atlantic City 9/12.
I followed the bird because I was curious if it was tame or even if it could fly and was hoping it could. The ocean was very angry that day my friends. I wasn't paying any attention and had to run as fast as possible to not get wet feet.
Atlantic City #59 - TrashCan & Benches Survive. Houses, Boardwalk, Bus Station lose -Hurricane Sandy
Hurricane Sandy spared a couple random things, that we can be happy for. Kind of like how the casino lets just a couple people win. While Sandy gave mostly everything in the Jersey Shore a black eye, she let some benches, and a trash can stay around by the skin of its teeth. Maybe thats Atlantic City's Halloween candy.
Hurricane Sandy's Eye left pronounced obliteration to Atlantic City, NJ that has never seen it before. It appears to be a bomb that exploded in a 10 x 2 block radius, resembling a war zone, but truly this one is Jersey Shore style. (read more at bottom)

(continued) From the locals, 25 foot waves occupying the first level of homes, boardwalk in pieces floating, complete buildings that came down to just wooden rubble, roofs blown off, water supply and electric damaged. This danger lasted as an ocean barreling through for 12-24 hours until it subsided.
AT&T Archives: Atlantic City, a City in Motion

In 1976, New Jersey voters approved a referendum to permit gambling within Atlantic City limits, kicking off a series of changes that the state hoped would breathe new life into a city that had fallen into decay and economic hardship. When this film was made in 1977, Atlantic City was not just a city in motion, it was a city on the cusp of an imagined future. AT&T made this film in anticipation of what the changes to the city would cause for the network that served the city.
The first casino, Resorts International, opened in the city in 1978. This film reflects the fact that the Bell System had to anticipate new demands on the system, and expand the network infrastructure to reflect that. At the time, the company expected that tourism to the area would grow quickly to 9 million visitors per year. That certainly happened, and more — almost 35 million people visited the city in 2005 alone.
