Beautiful Trail Hiking: Crater Lake from Mount Scott and Garfield Peak in 1080p
Absolutely beautiful hiking along Crater lake via Garfield Peak and Mount Scott (highest point in the park. Sunset time lapse taken from Cloudcap Overlook. The water is so blue it doesn't seem real. Snow persists here even through summer so plan accordingly.
Taken from
Crater Lake has long attracted the wonder and admiration of people all over the world. Its depth of 1,943 feet (592 meters) makes it the deepest lake in the United States, and the ninth deepest in the world. Its fresh water is some of the clearest found anywhere in the world. The interaction of people with this place is traceable at least as far back as the eruption of Mount Mazama. Founded May 22, 1902, Crater Lake National Park seeks to preserve these natural and cultural resources.
Crater Lake National Park, Oregon, USA in 4K (Ultra HD)
Crater Lake is a stunningly beautiful lake, formed in volcano caldera, after the volcano collapsed 7,700 years ago. The lake is deep almost 2000 ft/600 m, it is 5 mi/8 km across its shorter side, a little more on the longer one.
Enjoy views of the lake with its incredible blue color from a boat, from the top of Wizard Island, the Rim Trail and the surrounding peaks - Mt Scott, Garfield Peak and the Watchman.
Recorded August 2016 in 4K (Ultra HD) with Sony AX100.

What's it like? Crater Lake National Park in Oregon...
Crater Lake, is right in the middle of Crater Lake National Park, in Oregon, USA. What I expected to be just another lake turned out to be the most blue body of water I have ever seen. It was mesmerizing and incredible, and if you're ever in Oregon, it's worth a trip to go see Crater Lake.

Deepest Lake In America Crater Lake Oregon HD
Song: Behold...
Album: Native American Meditations
Label: New World Music
The Klamath tribe of Native Americans, who may have witnessed the collapse of Mount Mazama and the formation of Crater Lake, have long regarded the lake as a sacred site. Their legends tell of a battle between the sky god Skell and Llao, the god of the underworld. Mount Mazama was destroyed in the battle, creating Crater Lake. The Klamath people used Crater Lake in vision quests, which often involved climbing the caldera walls and other dangerous tasks. Those who were successful in such quests were often regarded as having more spiritual powers. The tribe still holds Crater Lake in high regard as a spiritual site.
Crater Lake is located in Klamath County, approximately 60 miles (97 km) northwest of the county seat of Klamath Falls, and about 80 miles (130 km) northeast of the city of Medford.
The lake is 5 by 6 miles (8 by 10 km) across with an average depth of 1,148 feet (350 m). Its maximum depth has been measured at 1,949 feet (594 m), which fluctuates slightly as the weather changes. This makes Crater Lake the deepest lake that is completely in the United States, the second deepest lake in North America, and the ninth deepest lake in the world (Lake Baikal is the deepest). Crater Lake is often cited as the seventh deepest lake in the world, but this ranking excludes Lake Vostok, which is situated under nearly 13,000 feet (4,000 m) of Antarctic ice, and the recent soundings of San Martín Lake, which is located on the border of Chile and Argentina.
However, on the basis of comparing average depths among the world's deepest lakes, Crater Lake becomes the deepest lake in the Western Hemisphere and the third deepest in the world.
The caldera rim of Crater Lake ranges in elevation from 7,000 to 8,000 feet (2,100 to 2,400 m).
Crater Lake National Park, Oregon, USA
Crater Lake is a crater lake in south-central Oregon in the western United States. Crater Lake National Park is famous for its deep blue color and water clarity. Crater Lake is known to be the deepest lake in the United States and the seventh deepest in the world.

Nature Lover in Oregon-Crater Lake National Park, Oregon, USA-Visit September 2016
This video is a visual account of my visit to Crater Lake National Park, which is the only National Park in Oregon, U.S.A. Along with my husband and son, we travelled by car from Portland via Bend, Oregon to reach the National Park.
With a depth of 1,943 feet, Crater Lake is the deepest lake in the United States - and one of the most beautiful. The water's intense blue color is an indication of its great depth and purity. Surrounded by cliffs, the lake is fed entirely by rain and snow. Scientists consider Crater Lake to be the cleanest and clearest large body of water in the world.
Crater Lake itself occupies less than 10% of the park. Beyond the lake, old-growth forests blanket the landscape. Established in 1902, the park protects 15 species of conifers, from towering ponderosa pines to ancient whitebark pines. These trees shelter a wide array of wildlife, including black bears, mountain lions, elk, and spotted owls.
Crater Lake rests in the belly of a dormant volcano. The volcano once stood 12,000 feet tall, but it collapsed after a major eruption 7,700 years ago. Later eruptions formed Wizard Island, a cinder cone that rises from the water. The park has an abundance of fascinating volcanic features, including a second rocky island, the Phantom Ship.
Climbing up the rim of the lake on the Garfield trek, were many tourists. Selfies and photographs at scenic spots brought smiles on. We also saw a human made pile of stones (cairn) used as a trail marker as we reached the top. After witnessing a fabulous sunset on the Lake, we drove back to Portland as the rising moon led the way.
Crater Lake National Park and neighboring national forest lands are constantly threatened by logging, mining and development interest groups.
The rainforest site has started a petition to encourage Oregon's elected officials to protect Crater Lake's integrity by keeping it wild. Please sign the petition

Garfield Peak, Toketee Falls 11/24/18
Today we take a four hour drive out to the deepest lake in the United States- Crater Lake! It is well worth the drive when the area is covered in snow as the views are just incredible! After the hike and a lunch break we then stop by Toketee Falls on our way home. It is a very short hike but the falls are a sight worth seeing... enjoy!

A Bear sighting, he looked so tame.
Crater Lake, what color!
Arrived in a misty rain; about an hour later skies cleared to bright, full sun as we made our way around the rim.

Crater Lake National Park - Day 1
► Cleetwood Cove
Cleetwood Cove is one of the best hikes in the park, and is certainly a must-do. Cleetwood Cove is the only trail that takes you straight down to the shore of Crater Lake, and you can even dive in and go for a swim if you'd like to! Crater Lake looks so clean and pure from the shore, do yourself a favor and hike Cleetwood Cove during your visit to Crater Lake National Park.
► Mount Scott
Mount Scott is the highest point in all of Crater Lake National Park. So you'll first head to the base of the lake at Cleetwood Cove, then get a bird's eye view at Mount Scott! This is a fantastic hike, and gives you the chance to see a full panorama of the beauty of the entire park. Mount Scott is a must.
Crater Lake National Park - Day 2
► Garfield Peak
While Garfield Peak is a tad smaller than Mount Scott, the view is arguably better. Garfield Peak is situated right on top of Crater Lake, so the view from the peak is absolutely gorgeous, there is not a better one in the entire park. On the way to Garfield Peak, you'll see Phantom Ship Island, which is a must-see, as this eerily looks like an old sailing ship!
► Watchman Peak
The Watchman Peak is our final stop, and this one is fantastic for a few reasons. First off, it is low effort, high reward. After 2 full days of hiking, you may be ready for a nice easy hike, and Watchman Peak is the one for you. Under a mile each way, this offers stunning views of the entire lake and Wizard Island. Wizard Island is the largest and most magnificent of Crater Lake's islands, and is stunning to view from Watchman Peak. Also, Watchman Peak offers the chance to learn about the landscape and history of Crater Lake on the many informational signs posted at the top.
Also while in Crater Lake National Park, stop at the visitor center and check out the free 30 minute video on how Crater Lake was created. Mount Mazama, formerly one of the tallest peaks in Oregon, collapsed into an enormous caldera, and over thousands of years rain and snow fell into the huge bowl. This caused water levels to rise and rise to the levels they are today! Still, no streams enter or leave Crater Lake, making the lake completely still and perfectly clear!

So, we made it happen! We saved up AS MUCH as we could over those 2 years - all homemade meals, no shopping, walk or bike everywhere, etc - and sold almost all of our belongings! With that money, we bought a renovated a van that we have been living in ever since! We started our YouTube channel a few weeks ago and have been loving creating videos! When we started, we were SO SO SO SO bad at it, and to be honest we still kinda suck, but we want to get better! What videos do you want to see? What do you want to know? Let us know and we will make it happen!
