Beautiful Trail Hiking: Crater Lake from Mount Scott and Garfield Peak in 1080p
Absolutely beautiful hiking along Crater lake via Garfield Peak and Mount Scott (highest point in the park. Sunset time lapse taken from Cloudcap Overlook. The water is so blue it doesn't seem real. Snow persists here even through summer so plan accordingly.
Taken from
Crater Lake has long attracted the wonder and admiration of people all over the world. Its depth of 1,943 feet (592 meters) makes it the deepest lake in the United States, and the ninth deepest in the world. Its fresh water is some of the clearest found anywhere in the world. The interaction of people with this place is traceable at least as far back as the eruption of Mount Mazama. Founded May 22, 1902, Crater Lake National Park seeks to preserve these natural and cultural resources.

Crater Lake National Park, Oregon, USA in 4K (Ultra HD)
Crater Lake is a stunningly beautiful lake, formed in volcano caldera, after the volcano collapsed 7,700 years ago. The lake is deep almost 2000 ft/600 m, it is 5 mi/8 km across its shorter side, a little more on the longer one.
Enjoy views of the lake with its incredible blue color from a boat, from the top of Wizard Island, the Rim Trail and the surrounding peaks - Mt Scott, Garfield Peak and the Watchman.

Crater Lake National Park In Oregon
Crater Lake National Park is located in Oregon. In the lake you can see the Phantom ship, pumice castle, Mount Scott, the local lodge and wild flowers.
A hike with my sister Cheryl and Dean.
Hiking at Crater Lake National Park
Crater Lake is a caldera lake in the western United States, located in south-central Oregon. It is the main feature of Crater Lake National Park and is famous for its deep blue color and water clarity. The lake partly fills a nearly 2,148-foot deep caldera that was formed around 7,700 years ago by the collapse of the volcano Mount Mazama. There are no rivers flowing into or out of the lake; the evaporation is compensated for by rain and snowfall at a rate such that the total amount of water is replaced every 250 years. At 1,943 feet, the lake is the deepest in the United States, and one of the deepest in the world.
Hiking Cleetwood Cove Trail | Swimming in Crater Lake | Crater Lake National Park, Oregon
We hiked the Cleetwood Cove Trail in Crater Lake National Park. It is 2.2 miles round trip. The trail is the only legal way to get to the shore of Crater Lake. Here, you are able to swim, fish, or catch a boat tour of Crater Lake. Crater Lake has a depth of 1,949 feet and the water has an average surface temperature of 57 degrees during the summer. More about it in the video.

Crater Lake National Park - Day 1
► Cleetwood Cove
Cleetwood Cove is one of the best hikes in the park, and is certainly a must-do. Cleetwood Cove is the only trail that takes you straight down to the shore of Crater Lake, and you can even dive in and go for a swim if you'd like to! Crater Lake looks so clean and pure from the shore, do yourself a favor and hike Cleetwood Cove during your visit to Crater Lake National Park.
► Mount Scott
Mount Scott is the highest point in all of Crater Lake National Park. So you'll first head to the base of the lake at Cleetwood Cove, then get a bird's eye view at Mount Scott! This is a fantastic hike, and gives you the chance to see a full panorama of the beauty of the entire park. Mount Scott is a must.
Crater Lake National Park - Day 2
► Garfield Peak
While Garfield Peak is a tad smaller than Mount Scott, the view is arguably better. Garfield Peak is situated right on top of Crater Lake, so the view from the peak is absolutely gorgeous, there is not a better one in the entire park. On the way to Garfield Peak, you'll see Phantom Ship Island, which is a must-see, as this eerily looks like an old sailing ship!
► Watchman Peak
The Watchman Peak is our final stop, and this one is fantastic for a few reasons. First off, it is low effort, high reward. After 2 full days of hiking, you may be ready for a nice easy hike, and Watchman Peak is the one for you. Under a mile each way, this offers stunning views of the entire lake and Wizard Island. Wizard Island is the largest and most magnificent of Crater Lake's islands, and is stunning to view from Watchman Peak. Also, Watchman Peak offers the chance to learn about the landscape and history of Crater Lake on the many informational signs posted at the top.
Also while in Crater Lake National Park, stop at the visitor center and check out the free 30 minute video on how Crater Lake was created. Mount Mazama, formerly one of the tallest peaks in Oregon, collapsed into an enormous caldera, and over thousands of years rain and snow fell into the huge bowl. This caused water levels to rise and rise to the levels they are today! Still, no streams enter or leave Crater Lake, making the lake completely still and perfectly clear!

Hi, we are Julie & Zach, a couple who sold everything in 2018 and took off an adventure around the world! So far, this journey has taken us in a van ALL ACROSS the United States and Canada, from snorkeling with manatees in Florida to camping in the Grand Canyon to climbing glaciers in Canada, and everything in between! We were both working and going to school while living in Chicago in 2017 and 2018, and to be honest it really wore on us. We were exhausted, unfulfilled, and ready for an adventure. So, we made it happen! We saved up AS MUCH as we could over those 2 years - all homemade meals, no shopping, walk or bike everywhere, etc - and sold almost all of our belongings! With that money, we bought a renovated a van that we have been living in ever since! We started our YouTube channel a few weeks ago and have been loving creating videos! When we started, we were SO SO SO SO bad at it, and to be honest we still kinda suck, but we want to get better! What videos do you want to see? What do you want to know? Let us know and we will make it happen!
We believe that travel is truly a life-changing experience, it certainly changed ours! When you get out of your everyday world and experience new cultures, foods, places, people, sights, sounds, and take an adventure, you grow as a person and you become a better version of yourself! You are WAY stronger than you know, and stronger than you give yourself credit for. You have the ability to do anything, so make it happen! BE FOREVER FREE!

Top 15 Things to see or Do in Crater Lake National Park, Oregon
Top 15 Things to see or Do in Crater Lake National Park, Oregon: Crater Lake, Rim Drive, Cleetwood Cove Trail, Toketee Falls, Wizard Island, Rim Village, Pinnacles Overlook Hike, Rogue River, Mount Scott Trail, Garfield Peak, Vidae Falls, Joseph H Stewart State Park, Whitehorse Falls, Discovery Point, Plaikni Falls
Fireball / UFO over Mt. Scott, Oregon USA
@ 6:56pm
Me and my mother were traveling south-east bound in my car, taking a fork in the road when I spotted and pointed out three objects that appeared to be comets (first thing that went through my mind).. I only saw one at first but two more came into sight moments later as I winded down the curvy road. (total of three)
I pointed them out in a bit of a panic because they appeared to be really big. They started out half the size of the moon, though shrank as they moved and appeared to be moving away over and past the mountain. Their movements were 'graceful' being the only way I can describe it. Their tails were white with a bit yellowish toward the end. I slowed to a crawl as we neared an intersection, and noted they were totally silent.
It was not like a firework, nor a flare, the tail seemed to emit off the object so slowly (especially at first when they were quite long). The objects continued making sharp banking turns side to side independent of one another.
The tails curved in response to the movements, glowing fire-like tails lingered quite a ways behind the objects creating them (to such an extent that when they made turns, the tails formed C-shapes).
At this point the third lowest UFO dipped below the houses and vanished as they moved over the mountain. (picture them in a triangle pattern with a flat face down of the triangle, the left most point was lower than the right most two points, with the top point high near the moon in the sky viewing SE)
I hurried as quickly as I could into the school parking lot (trying to take care, there were still cars and possibly kids around) at that intersection and parked as quickly as possible.
At this point the right most light was dipping below the house's roof lines, and as I struggled out of the car, flipping my phone on and trying to get it into camera mode the object took one final turn from right to left. Finally I got the camera up and started taking video of the final object which had drastically slowed it's banking movements, and was now slowly descending before vanishing behind a house's roof top.
Towards the end of the sighting, about the time I parked, the object's tails significantly reduced in length.
I know exactly where I parked, and I was facing down towards two homes. So I know right where it was in the sky in what direction. We proceeded to rush in the direction of where the objects dipped behind the houses (which are, in turn, on a mountain/hill. If the objects were still in the sky they could still be fairly high in elevation just on the other side of the mountain. This was our line of thought as we attempted to get on the other side of Mt. Scott.)
My mother riding with me got a better look (since I was driving). She reports The object was silver/metallic egg-shaped. The flame was undulating and was being emitted from object's widest perimeter in a ribbon type form.
The video picks up moments before the final object disappeared behind the houses to the other side of the mountain. By this time the objects had grown much smaller due to the distance they've moved.
The phone's camera shifted to a red tone, ruining the color representation of the object. (I have no idea why). The video is unedited, and the zoom was digital zoom on the phone. For a brief moment before I zoom in, you can see the moon and surroundings for size and perspective.
