Hike Southern Oregon | Crater Lake, Umpqua Hot Springs + Toketee Falls
This week Liz & Dennis share their free camping spot in the Umpqua National Forest, just minutes from Toketee (toke-uh-tee) Falls & Umpqua Hot Springs! These 2 hikes are must do's & actually pretty easy!
⚠️Umpqua Hot springs can be a bit risqué! ???? So... maybe don't bring the kids!
This part of our Southern Oregon road trip was breathtaking & VERY smokey! (pun intended) We were very excited to hike Crater Lake National Park, but the smoke was SO thick hiking was not advisable. The visitors center was a nice escape from the choking smoke & we added a sweet stamp to our National Parks Passport! A fun must have if you, like us, are on a mission to visit as many parks as you can.
We also share some tips on boondocking with our Grand Design Momentum 328M toy hauler 5th wheel RV.
The mission of our travel vlog is to inspire you to live the life of your dreams! Full time RV living is our way to travel America & experience new places through a local point of view. We would love to know what your dream life looks like!
Please tell us in the comments below! ✌️

Toketee Falls & Hot Springs are just 30 minutes outside of Crater Lake National park and are a must do when visiting Oregon! The upper falls drop40 feet while the lower falls drop 80 more feet! The word Toketee means pretty or graceful and this waterfall is certainly both!

Adventure to Crater Lake National Park! Camping, hiking and coffee mishaps! || Vlog 14
Crater Lake Oregon, WOW! Crater Lake is the only National Park in Oregon, and Crater Lake's depth is 1,949 feet, so deep!! Actually it’s the deepest lake in North America, and wow is it beautiful!
Lodging at Crater Lake is either at the actual Crater Lake Lodge, or in one of their two campsites. We choose camping this time, but would love to go back and stay in their lodge!
Despite the weather at Crater Lake being a bit cold and our camping set up not going as we planned, we had a blast! We even took an amazing hike down to the basin! Which was a trek back up, very worth it!
We stopped by the Crater Lake Lodge the morning after camping for some delicious breakfast and warm coffee, which was great after our propane ran out and we couldn’t make any of our own coffee :(
The Crater Lake lodge was great for breakfast and views were out of this world from their back deck.
We’d checked the Crater Lake webcams before going and it looked a bit smokey, but we were pleasantly surprised at how great our day was on Saturday, smoke free with great views!
This is a fantastic place, worth the drive and such a beauty!
Until Next Monday -- Stay Free, Stay Beautiful! ✌️

Garfield Peak, Toketee Falls 11/24/18
Today we take a four hour drive out to the deepest lake in the United States- Crater Lake! It is well worth the drive when the area is covered in snow as the views are just incredible! After the hike and a lunch break we then stop by Toketee Falls on our way home. It is a very short hike but the falls are a sight worth seeing... enjoy!
Toketee Falls Backflip
This is the first cliff jumping session Toketee Falls has ever seen as far as I know. We took a route that avoided all the turbulent hydraulics. A plan b would be to swim in the high velocity water, but it is extremely important to plan trajectories ahead and avoid being swept by the strong flow. It is recommended that experience class C canyoneers tackle this canyon.
The first canyoneering descent was conducted on October 3, 2015 by Evan Topinka, Luca Chiarabini, Tiffanie Lin, Dan Kinler and Adam DiPietro. The final falls had been descended by whitewater kayakers multiple times in years before, but that was the first time the Toketee Falls gorge had been descended by canyoneers.
