GINA WILHELM ACTRESS
I'm looking forward to one day playing the Baroness in The Sound of Music. My all-time favorite role is the Wicked Witch of the West in The Wizard of Oz. While I frequently play mean or otherwise unpleasant women, I am really a very nice person. My vocal range is mezzo-soprano with an augmented low range. My voice has been described by one of my instructors as rich and soothing.

TAP DANCE SEATTLE
Anthony Peters
Anthony's earliest dance teachers were the dancers on the TV show Where The Action Is; he would copy their moves then perform them for his Mom and brother. His formal dance education started at age 18 with tap lesson. After performing in musicals and dinner theater in the Seattle area he moved to New York to study with tap dance icon Jerry Ames. Anthony danced in the Jerry Ames Tap Dance Company and the Gail Conrad Tap Dance Theatre, two companies that were important in the tap dance revival of the 1980's. Since returning to Seattle, Anthony collaborated with Cheryl Johnson presenting hundreds of tap dance concerts featuring live music. Anthony and Cheryl are the creative team behind A Tap Dance Christmas Carol and co-founded the Johnson and Peters Tap Dance Studio.which eventually became Tap Dance Seattle.
Bill Evans is an internationally-known choreographer, performer, teacher, administrator, and movement analyst. More than 200 of Evans' works have been performed by professional and pre-professional ballet, modern dance, and tap companies through the United States and in Canada, Mexico, Europe and New Zealand.

ALICE IN CHAINS WSU AFTER PARTY CLIP Dec. 1989
This is just a small clip of the guys at the after party they went to; which was a students apartment - after they performed in the Cub Ballroom at WSU in Pullman, WA.. My friend actually shared this video with me 3 years ago; it had other music behind it and this clip was mixed in with several other pics of friends who she’d lost. Therefore, there were no actual words that were heard from Layne, Mike or Sean on the original video. Synced with “No Excuses” which worked perfectly for the short clip.
Note I am not the copyright owner, to the music; it belongs entirely to Alice In Chains, Columbia Records and Buttnuggett Publishing.

10 Facts Movie Theaters Don't Want You to Know
We all love movie theaters for the special feeling they give with fantastic special effects, complete sound immersion and the taste of popcorn. Would you still love them just as much if you found out their secrets movie theater owners don’t want you to know? We’re going to unveil 10 movie theater secrets.
In cinemas, many people can’t always keep their feelings to themselves and that’s normal. For example, a movie about cannibals called Raw appeared to be too hard to watch for a couple of visitors at The Toronto International Film Festival in 2016. The people fainted and one of them hit his head badly during the fall.
Digital devices can do everything on their own, and there are more automatic processes at a cinema than there were during the previous century.
Keep it in mind that in case there are some problems with a projector (the image is blurred, not centered, etc.), you’ll have to stand up and go notify a staff member in the lobby.
20% of the population, including Johnny Depp himself, simply can’t perceive those three dimensions. Harvard Medical School neurobiology professor Dr. Margaret S. Livingstone explains it could be due to stereo-blindness when eyes can’t see in 3D because of the way they are aligned.
If you love cleanliness that much, try to visit the cinema in the morning and avoid going there on Friday and Saturday nights when a lot of other people go out to the movies.

SUMMARY
-Theaters have to pay a lot to film studios in the first two months of distribution so they have to make their money out of concession.
-The cinema staff members who manage to prevent movie theft get a $500 prize.
-The younger generations buy a ticket when two movies start simultaneously, and one of them is not R-rated.
-A movie about cannibals called Raw appeared to be too hard to watch for a couple of visitors at The Toronto International Film Festival in 2016. The people fainted and one of them hit his head badly during the fall.
-One couple stuffed a truckload of food into an infant’s car seat and went to watch a movie. A girl from put some pasta into zip-lock bags and brought them into the cinema with her.
-3D glasses give you an illusion of being inside a movie and it drives your visual analyzer crazy.
-Even though a movie projector has to be programmed during the day, there’s nobody sitting in the booth when you watch a movie.
-A short break between two movies is not enough time for a cinema staff to thoroughly clean up a theater.
-Someone who loves to fight will always find a reason to do so. It could be that someone took someone else’s parking place, they talked on the phone during the movie, or someone is chomping too loudly.
-Thanks to security cameras, movie theater staff can spot and kick out couples that go too far on their “loveseats”.

The Brooks Family Lecture: Bringing America Together
Arthur Brooks addresses the divisions that plague America & finds a set of strategies to help us disagree better, forge a new model of aspirational leadership, & unite the country.
Tuesday, January 29, 2019
5:00pm – 6:30pm
Filene Auditorium, Moore Building
Sponsored by: Rockefeller Center
No matter what our political views, few people believe our country is as united as it should be. Whether in the media, politics, or even in our personal relationships, we all recognize that the country is increasingly defined by a culture of contempt – in which people treat others with whom they disagree as defective, or worthless. Within this distressing reality, however, there lies an opportunity for our nation. Drawing on history, social psychology, behavioral economics, and the counsel of ancient wisdom, Arthur Brooks addresses the divisions that plague America, and finds a set of strategies to help us disagree better, forge a new model of aspirational leadership, and unite the country.
Arthur C. Brooks is president of the American Enterprise Institute (AEI), a nonpartisan public policy think tank in Washington, DC, where he is also the Beth and Ravenel Curry Scholar in Free Enterprise. Additionally, Dr. Brooks is a columnist for the Washington Post and host of the podcast “The Arthur Brooks Show.”
At 19, Dr. Brooks left college to work professionally as a classical musician (a period his parents described as his “gap decade”). During this time, he toured the United States with the Annapolis Brass Quintet, recorded albums with jazz guitarist Charlie Byrd and others, and spent several seasons as associate principal French horn with the City Orchestra of Barcelona.
In his late twenties, Dr. Brooks returned to college by correspondence and studied economics, mathematics, and modern languages, eventually earning his B.A. while still working as a musician. He went on to pursue an M.A. in economics at Florida Atlantic University and a Ph.D. in public policy at the RAND Graduate School in Santa Monica, California. His doctoral work focused on applied microeconomics and mathematical modeling. While earning his Ph.D., Dr. Brooks also conducted research for the RAND Corporation on theater-level combat models for the US Air Force.
Upon completion of his doctorate, Dr. Brooks joined the faculty of Syracuse University as a professor of public administration. For ten years, he taught courses in economics and social entrepreneurship and conducted research on happiness and the economics of philanthropy. He was the Louis A. Bantle Professor of Business and Government at Syracuse until assuming the presidency of AEI on January 1, 2009.
Dr. Brooks has published dozens of scholarly articles and 11 books on topics including philanthropy, military operations research, the future of conservatism, and human happiness. His next book, “Love Your Enemies,” will be released in March 2019 (Broadside Books, 2019). Previous books include New York Times bestsellers “The Conservative Heart: How to Build a Fairer, Happier, and More Prosperous America” (Broadside Books, 2015) and “The Road to Freedom: How to Win the Fight for Free Enterprise” (Basic Books, 2012) as well as the textbook “Social Entrepreneurship” (Prentice Hall, 2008).
Dr. Brooks delivers more than 100 speeches annually around the US, Europe, and Asia. He appears regularly on radio and television and is a frequent guest host for programs such as CNBC’s “Squawk Box.” He writes frequently for the Washington Post and publishes featured pieces in outlets such as The New York Times, The Wall Street Journal, Commentary Magazine, and Foreign Affairs. In the spring of 2019, he is releasing “The Pursuit,” a feature-length documentary film that explores the themes of poverty alleviation and human happiness both at home and abroad.
In the summer of 2019, he will join the faculty of the Harvard Kennedy School and Harvard Business School.

Listening is a more natural way of learning, when compared to reading. Written language only began at around 3200 BC, but spoken language has existed long ago.
Learning by listening is a great way to:
- increases imagination and understanding
- improves your listening skills
- improves your own spoken accent
- learn while on the move
- reduce eye strain
Now learn the vast amount of general knowledge available on Wikipedia through audio (audio article). You could even learn subconsciously by playing the audio while you are sleeping! If you are planning to listen a lot, you could try using a bone conduction headphone, or a standard speaker instead of an earphone.

SUMMARY
=======
Lynching is the practice of murder by a group by extrajudicial action. Lynchings in the United States rose in number after the American Civil War in the late 1800s, following the emancipation of slaves; they declined in the 1920s but have continued to take place into the 21st century. Most lynchings were of African-American men in the South, but women were also lynched, and white lynchings of blacks occurred in Midwestern and border states, especially during the 20th-century Great Migration of blacks out of the South. The purpose was to enforce white supremacy and intimidate blacks by racial terrorism. On a per capita basis lynchings were also common in California and the Old West, especially of Latinos, although they represented less than 10% of the national total. Native Americans and Asian Americans were also lynched. Other ethnicities (white, Finnish-American, Jewish, Irish, Italian-American) were occasionally lynched.
The stereotype of a lynching is a hanging, because hangings are what crowds of people saw, and are also easy to photograph. Some hangings were professionally photographed and sold as postcards, which were popular souvenirs in some parts of the U.S. Victims were also killed by mobs in a variety of other ways: shot repeatedly, burned alive, forced to jump off a bridge, dragged behind cars, and the like. Sometimes they were tortured as well, with body parts sometimes removed and sold as souvenirs. Occasionally lynchings were not fatal (see Lynching survivors in the United States). A mock lynching, putting the rope around the neck of someone suspected of concealing information, might be used to compel confessions.According to the Tuskegee Institute, 4,743 people were lynched between 1882 and 1968 in the United States, including 3,446 African Americans and 1,297 whites. More than 73 percent of lynchings in the post-Civil War period occurred in the Southern states. According to the Equal Justice Initiative, 4,084 African-Americans were lynched between 1877 and 1950 in the South.Lynchings were most frequent from 1890 to the 1920s, with a peak in 1892. Lynchings were often large mob actions, attended by hundreds or thousands of watchers, sometimes announced in advance in newspapers and in one instance with a special train. However, in the later 20th century lynchings became more secretive, and were conducted by smaller groups of people.
According to Michael Pfeifer, the prevalence of lynching in postbellum America reflects lack of confidence in the due process judicial system. He links the decline in lynching in the early twentieth century with the advent of the modern death penalty: legislators renovated the death penalty...out of direct concern for the alternative of mob violence. He also cites the modern, racialized excesses of u ...

HHeиsemble & Bernstein - Face
Steven Jay Jesse Bernstein (December 4, 1950 -- October 22, 1991) was a Jewish American underground writer and performance artist who is most famous for his recordings with Sub Pop Records and close relationship with William S. Burroughs. Bernstein's substance abuse issues and mental illness contributed to his provocative local celebrity, though they ultimately culminated in his suicide.
Bernstein was born in Los Angeles, California. His substance abuse issues began as the aftermath of his stay in the Camarillo State Hospital in Camarillo, California as an adolescent. He moved with his family to Seattle, Washington in January 1967, where he adopted the moniker Jesse, and began performing and self-publishing chapbooks of his poetry (the first chapbook was Choking On Sixth, 1979). Bernstein would become something of an icon to many in Seattle's underground music scene. Notable fans included Kurt Cobain and Oliver Stone. Though often noted for his connection to grunge and punk rock, Bernstein saw himself primarily as a poet and his live performances in Seattle, such as his regular readings at the Dogtown poetry theater and Red Sky Poetry Theater, were influential in Seattle, and he is credited as a major influence by many local poets from his era.
Bernstein's mental illness was not as alarming as it might have been off the stage, as his drug-reinforced manic episodes were harnessed and channeled into engrossing, often perverse, entertainment. According to one Seattle newspaper, he opened for music acts such as Nirvana, Big Black, Soundgarden, U-Men, and The Cows:
He read poems from a stage with a live rodent in his mouth, its tail twitching as baseline punctuation. He tried to cut his heart out in order to hold it in his hands and calm it down. He once urinated on a heckler and tended to throw things: beer bottles, manuscripts, drumsticks, his wallet, a sandwich.
It is important to distinguish between the on-stage antics fueled by alcohol and those which, however bizarre (like the performance with a mouse), were deliberate. Bernstein was clean and sober from 1981 to 1990, despite the ravages of bipolar disorder and posttraumatic stress disorder.
The concept for the Bernstein album Prison was for Jesse to do a raw, live performance at the State Penitentiary Special Offenders unit in Monroe, Washington in 1991. Jesse went with his manager Barbara Buckland, Bruce Pavitt from Sub Pop Records, Grant Alden, then a writer for Rocket magazine and now the co-founder of No Depression magazine, photographer Arthur S. Aubry, and various technical assistance people. None of the session except for the photos taken by Aubry was usable. Sub Pop later contracted Steve Fisk to finish the project. The album was intended to be produced along the same lines as Johnny Cash's At Folsom Prison, but Fisk later decided to score the recordings with jazz and ambient music. The album was only partially completed by the time of his Bernstein's death.
On October 22, 1991, at the age of 40, Bernstein committed suicide by stabbing himself in the throat in his home in Neah Bay, Washington.
Prison was released on April 1, 1992.
In 1994, one of these recordings, Me and Her Outside (No No Man), was used in the film Natural Born Killers.
I am Secretly an Important Man, a collection of poetry, short stories, and spoken performances, was released in March 1996 by Zero Hour Publishing.
His song A Little Bit Of Everything (That Brought Me Down To This) was also included on the two-CD set Home Alive, the proceeds from which benefited women's self-defense groups in the Seattle area.
