Top 10 Reasons NOT to Move to Denver, Colorado
The Top 10 reasons You Should NOT move to Denver, Colorado and the worst things you NEED to know about moving to Colorado Springs or Boulder instead.
Worst places to live in Nashville -
What's it like living in Denver? Well first off, the elevation is higher than most cities at 5,280 feet above sea level and it's located right next to the beautiful front range of the Rocky Mountains. The weather here is crazy and gets very cold with lots of snow but also very hot and dry in the Summer. It's actually the largest city in Colorado, and along with Colorado Springs, Fort Collins, Boulder and other secluded mountain towns, one of the best cities to live in America. A lot of people are moving from California and Texas to the Mile High City, making it one of the fastest growing and most expensive cities in the United States. If the Centennial State has the #1 economy, why shouldn't you live in Denver, CO?

this is so a better eco-social cohesionary system than what you can think of, that in no way allows for blatant corruption, conflict of interests that result in pollution, fraud, & unjustified violence (harm, damage, loss) to the majority (dirty commoners) while protecting & enriching the minority (public/private corporators)

The Red Hot Has Beef with Bad Hot Dogs
The Red Hot in Tacoma, WA - RITR Field Portrait #3
The Red Hot is a tap room in Tacoma, WA best known for its spectacular variety.
Connoisseurs of beer and hot dogs, The Red Hot offers dozens of creative takes on the class dog, and their beer list is an ever-changing selection of 30+ taps.
Breweries from all over the United States are represented on the Red Hot blackboard. Each time a tap expires, its entry on the blackboard is erased, the line is cleaned, and a new variety of beer takes its place.
To keep track of their wide selection of beers, The Red Hot started using Rite in the Rain notecards as ID tags for each keg. The crew writes the ABV, IBU count, name, location of origin, customer remarks, taste profile, and other details on each index card. When a keg is tapped, they bring that card up front as a reference for the bartenders.
It's a fascinating system, and one that you should definitely see in person. Stop by the Red Hot at 2914 6th Ave, Tacoma, WA 98406.

Will the U.S. End Prohibition on Hemp? Recreational Marijuana in New York | MERRY JANE NEWS
MERRY JANE
Great news guys, after eighty years of prohibition, hemp may finally become legal again by the end of this year.
This Monday, Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell signed the final version of the 2018 Farm Bill – and he did it in style with a pen made out of hemp. This bill contains a provision that will legalize industrial hemp and all hemp-derived products, including CBD. It may seem strange that America's top Republican leader is fighting to legalize cannabis, but McConnell has actually been advocating for legal hemp for years now, as it’ll bring many new jobs to his home state of Kentucky.
American farmers started growing hemp as soon as they settled in the country, but hemp cultivation was put to a stop in 1937, when the U.S. government banned all forms of cannabis. Today, hemp is considered a dangerous drug, even though smoking it doesn't even get you high. The Farm Bill will change that, making it legal for any farmer in the country to grow this form of cannabis wherever they choose. The bill still requires approval from Congress and the president, but advocates are optimistic that this will happen before the end of the year.
While the federal government is finally getting around to legalizing hemp, individual states are also fighting the good fight for cannabis reform.
In New York, a fully-legal adult use pot market is becoming less of a pipe dream and more of an inevitability. After years of calling pot a “gateway drug,” Governor Andrew Cuomo is finally seeing green, and Empire State lawmakers are currently hard at work drafting a new legalization bill. A recent report has estimated that legal pot could bring New York as much as $750 million in tax revenue every year, which raises an important question: What to do with all this money?
A new report out of NYU says that the best solution would be to use this cash to shore up New York City's antiquated subway system. Over 5.5 million people ride the NYC subways every weekday, and if you’re one of those people then you know exactly how uncomfortable and unreliable the subway system can be. That said, a steady stream of green from legal pot sales could be just the ticket to keep trains running.
But as great as it would be to have reliable subway service in the Big Apple, cannabis advocates arguing that public transit should take a back seat to social justice. Drug Policy Alliance deputy director Melissa Moore believes that pot revenue should be directed to “marginalized communities...who have been ravaged by over-policing and impacted by other insidious criminalization.” The current draft of the bill already addresses this issue, directing 50% of all legal pot tax revenue back to neighborhoods impacted by prohibition.
It's good to hear that New York's legalization bill may include social justice reforms from the get-go, especially since righting the wrongs of prohibition has been an afterthought in other canna-legal states.
…but reform is catching on
San Francisco, San Diego and Seattle announced their efforts early this year, framing the work as an attempt to repair years of damage on people who found that a misdemeanor conviction could bar them from jobs, housing and financial resources
That may soon change for Denver residents, thanks to a new program spearheaded by Mayor Michael Hancock. Hancock's program will automatically clear the records of over 10,000 people who were convicted of minor pot offenses between 2001 and 2013.
The mayor’s goal is to quote “move on from an era of marijuana prohibition that has impacted the lives of thousands of people,”
The mayor's office is also working on directing weed tax revenue to lower-income neighborhoods, and is actively considering ways to boost minority participation in the pot industry.

Visit Tri-Cities: Sip, Chip, Take a Trip in the Heart of Washington Wine Country
The Tri-Cities, made up of the cities of Kennewick, Pasco, and Richland, lies at the heart of Washington States Wine Country. We are located in the hub of the Columbia Valley AVA (American Viticultural Area) where 99% of all of Washingtons wine grapes are grown. In fact, Benton County (home to Kennewick, Richland, Benton City, and Prosser) was recently named the largest grape growing region in the state of Washington. We truly offer visitors the opportunity to sample wines made from grapes grown in the area, a chance to roam through vineyards, and meet the winemakers and owners at more than 160 wineries within an hours drive. We have a number of wineries that offer eco-friendly wines, the first vineyard to be Certified Organic by Washington State Department of Agriculture, the oldest family-owned winery in the state sits in Pasco (also home to the Pacific Northwests largest corkscrew collection), and Washingtons first barrel caves were built on Red Mountain, just five minutes from Richland. There are great opportunities to experience the wineries during festivals throughout the year. Local wineries open up their doors to pair dark chocolate with their favorite red wine during Red Wine & Chocolate in February; visitors can preview and sample wineries straight from the barrels during Spring Barrel Tasting in April; and its always an experience to celebrate the bounty of harvest, see how wines are made, and participate in your very own grape stomp during Catch the Crush weekend in September. Most wineries are open year-round, offering free tastings to their visitors. And if they dont, most will waive the tasting fee with the purchase of wine.

Katrina Bookman, 44, hit a $42.9 million jackpot at Resorts World Casino in Queens, N.Y. She posed next to the winning machine as it displayed her earnings. As a crowd started gathering around, security showed up.
Fans of US football team watch World Cup in a bar
American World Cup fans were optimistic on Friday as the United States were drawn into what appears to be one of the toughest first-round groups of the tournament.
They were drawn into Group G, which will see them pitted against Ghana, Portugal and Germany in Brazil 2014.
Donald Wine, President of the Washington DC chapter of the American Outlaws, a US football supporters group, said that despite the tough outlook, America could go far.
We have a shot of going far so it's just a matter of us playing our game and beating the teams that are in front of us, he said after he and his cohorts had watched the draw in a DC bar.
Statistically, Group G has the top average FIFA world ranking.
However, Melissa Wiley wasn't disheartened by that, and thinks Team USA may have a silver bullet in its arsenal.
I think the fact that Jurgen Klinsmann used to be the coach for Germany will give us an edge over them, she said.
US coach Jurgen Klinsmann played for Germany's 1990 World Cup winning side and coached his native country to third place in the 2006 tournament, commuting to Europe from his California home.
The US is making its seventh straight appearance at the World Cup next year.
The Americans will train in the US from mid-May onwards and plan a series of exhibition games, which likely will include England as an opponent, before heading to Brazil.
