HIKING MOUNT STORM KING - Olympic National Park, Washington
Summer 2019! Tessa and I took a car camping trip to the Olympic National Forest and spent a few days there exploring the park and other places. Mount Storm King was one of the highest items on the list to see, and we saw it. The hike is a monster of a butt kicker. Over 2,000 feet of elevation to gain in just 2.2 miles. We hiked it pretty late in the day, and were the only ones up there which made for a pretty scenic spot all to ourselves. On top we were pretty swarmed with bees, and at one point I swatted a wasp with my hat and accidentally let my hat tumble down the steep ridge. I was able to retrieve it, but it made for a pretty upset girlfriend which you can hear me get lectured on at the end of the video :)
Overall this hike is a must do for anyone in the area, and we really enjoyed it. Thanks for checking it out, and be sure to hit the like button and subscribe to the channel for future videos!

Purple Reign - Political Postcard from Washington State 6/9
What's the GOP plan to turn blue states purple?
In the fight to win control at the state level, Republicans have reached a historic high, capturing thirty-one legislatures in the past several years. Now the Republicans are looking for more, even in a supposedly left-leaning state like Washington. With divided knife-edge majorities in both chambers, we follow a GOP strategist as he works with socially moderate candidates, including a Latino former marine, to win swing districts and change the statehouse balance of power. The gang heads home from the big cabin weekend. Taking a longer route down the washington coast line they make their way through Forks Washington barely escaping getting bit and having really bad food, down the coast to the #3 beach off highway 101, and finally to Lake Quinault lodge. A great last day to the big weekend trip to the coast.

After Largest Dam Removal in U.S. History, This River Is Thriving | National Geographic
June 2, 2016 - Conservationists can now point to the largest dam removal project in the U.S. as a success story. The ecosystem of Washington's Elwha River has been thriving since the removal of its hydroelectric dam system. Recent surveys show dramatic recovery, especially in the near shore at the river's mouth, where the flow of sediment has created favorable habitat for the salmon population. A new generation of salmon species, some of which are endangered, are now present in the river. Some hope that the restoration of the Elwha River will become a shining example for the removal of dams across the U.S.

Family Has Been Sailing Around The World Non-Stop For 9 Years
The Gifford family left their home in Washington in 2008 to sail around the world. They have not stopped since. We met up with them in the summer of 2016 in Noank, Connecticut to learn their story and to see how they all live on a 47-foot sailboat.
Follow the Giffords on their journey.
