Clallam County Parks - Camp David Jr
On majestic Lake Crescent, Camp David Jr. provides a beautiful setting for all types of group activities, focusing on youth groups. The grounds of the oldest county park in the state are beautifully maintained. The camp is rich in history since it was originally a health spa in the very early 1900's and much of the history is preserved on the site. Camp David Jr. has been maintained as an outdoor recreation camp since 1935.
Sitting on the veranda of the lodge overlooking the lake, you can easily imagine what it must have been like 100 years ago, when the sites original use was that of a health spa. Young people from across the western U.S. have a ball swimming, canoeing, fishing, and stone-skipping on the Olympic National Park lake. Nearby attractions include the Sol Duc and Elwha River valleys, numerous trails (including the Olympic Discovery Trail), and Lake Crescent Lodge.
The camp provides a great opportunity for a variety of youth and adult group retreats, educational camps, recreation camps, waterfront activities, family reunions and even weddings.
Camp Information
It is used on a reservation basis only and has a capacity for overnight use of 100. It is one of the finest outdoor recreation resident camps in the state. The facilities include a beautiful main lodge (full of elk horn chandeliers and paintings) kitchen/dining facilities, eight sleeping cabins, two group restrooms (accessible), one staff duplex, a beach cabin, a log cabin lodge, swimming area, fishing dock, grass playfield, manager's residence, and 8.75 acres of Lake Crescent waterfront property
Mickey in The Wilderness - Madison Falls - Olympic National Park - Elwha Valley
Mickey in The Wilderness - Madison Falls Trail is located at Olympic National Park at the Elwha River Entrance in The Elwha Valley. Madison Falls Trail is wheelchair accessible on a short, paved, 200 feet path to the base of the falls. There is an accessible vault toilet near the parking lot. This beautiful cascading water fall is a majestic little giant. Don't let the size fool you, Madison Falls is has a 60-foot high cascade. It was a crisp spring day out on the Olympic Peninsula. The sun was shining through the tall trees as the winds gently touched the leaves at the very top giving the appearance of the trees performing a spring dance. The birds were chirping singing their ode de spring song. And to my surprise, I hear the gentle roar of the falls as I stood before this majestic little giant. I was mesmerized and almost hypnotized by the sound and watching the water fall over the mossy rocks, pool, and swiftly flow downstream. Oh Madison Falls, your beauty will forever be ingrained in my memory and when I think of you it makes me smile.
Please come out and make your own memories here at Olympic National Park. It is a once in a life time experience you must enjoy. You will not be disappointed.

Salt Creek campground at the Salton Sea State Recreation Area
Nice morning at the Salton Sea.
I have several hundred Salton Sea photos - including many of what is seen in this video - on my Flickr page at
The Salton Sea was once a popular place for boating, swimming, fishing, etc., but an increase in the salt level of the water caused large numbers of fish to die and the water became foul. This, in addition to a couple of hurricanes in the 1970's, caused the communities surrounding the sea to deteriorate.
The Salton Sea was recently featured on Life After People on the History Channel.
Grand reopening of the Salton Sea History Museum. Now located at 72-120 S. Lincoln Street (end of road across creek), Mecca, CA 92254

Camping at Whitney Pockets BLM in Nevada
See full blog post -
Last year a local friend showed me this cool free camping BLM spot called Whitney Pockets on the hills around Lake Mead in southern Nevada. I knew I had to check it out again with the RV when we returned this year. In this video I show the BLM area, campsites and some of the cool desert scenery there.

Cape Flattery, Washington
Cape Flattery is the northwestern most point of the contiguous United States. It is in Callum County, Washington on the Olympic Peninsula, where the Strait of Juan de Fuca joins the Pacific Ocean. It is also part of the Makah Reservation, and is the northern boundary of the Olympic Coast National Marine Sanctuary.
The hike into the Cape is easily accessed and the trails are well maintained. Once you arrive at the trail end you are met with majestic rocks towering out of the ocean, with caves and clear blue ocean water. We saw seals feeding along the area, it was truly a wonderful, and spiritual place that makes you really appreciate mother nature and her glory. I hope you enjoy the video and Subscribe to our channel. ITS FREE, AND WHY NOT ,THERE IS SO MANY MORE INTERESTING AND BEAUTIFUL VIDEOS COMING UP.
