Phil Hardberger Park - Future Land Bridge
Phil Hardberger Park is divided by Wurzbach Parkway. Connecting the east and west sides of the park is critical to creating a cohesive natural area and protecting the wildlife living in the park. The ideal way to connect the two sides is to build a Land Bridge broad enough for animals and people to safely cross, as is described in the park's master plan.
Such a bridge would be 150 feet wide and could cost as much as $25 million. This is definitely an ambitious proposal, but the Land Bridge will be more than just a way to cross from one side to the other. It will be a continuation of the natural beauty of the park.
The Conservancy is actively seeking funding for this important and ambitious project.
Your donation to the Conservancy will put us closer to uniting the park, making the entire park accessible to visitors and eliminating the tragic loss of wildlife that tries to cross the parkway.

Archers Ready!....... In Texas? Comanche Lookout Park, San Antonio TX
A Castle? In Texas? Yessir.... This beautiful piece of local architecture was built in the 1920's by a man who owned this particular piece of land. Why? Apparently because he just felt like building one! This area is now a park in San Antonio, Tx called Comanche Lookout. The Comanche, and other tribes, would use the high elevation here as a lookout point.... long before this tower was built. Urban legend also says the area is haunted. The Old Camino Real, which was the original road into San Antonio way back in the day, runs directly in front of the hill. Davy Crockett himself, along with his band of volunteers would have traveled this road en route to The Alamo.

Rode a few laps of the new doubletrack at Hardberger park on NW Military near Wurzbach in San Antonio. The camera angles are too low so I didn't put any music to this. I'll ride it again and take some better video in the next few weeks.
