Buses in Seattle, WA (Volume Eight)
The eighth volume of Buses in Seattle, Washington - in the United States. Volume Nine can be found here:
This may just be the volume with the highest amount of variety in the fleet of both King County Metro and Sound Transit - also featuring Community Transit, BoltBus and some privately owned coaches.
For King County Metro we see the old Gillig diesels and trolleys, Breda Trolleys, new Xcelsior trolleys and diesels, as well as the old high-floor artics contrasting sharply with the brand new Xcelsior artics. We also catch a glimpse of the Proterra All-Electric Bus at Eastgate Park & Ride. For Sound Transit we see the old Gillig Phantoms, new Gillig CNGs, Double Deckers, and the LF, LFR and Xcelsior artics. For Community Transit we see the LF artics and both generations of Double Deckers.
Locations: Downtown Seattle - Third Avenue (Lenora, Virginia and Stewart). University District - Fifteenth Avenue & Stevens Way. Chinatown Link Station - King Street. Eastgate Park & Ride.
Cape Flattery. July, 2016.
A trip to Cape Flattery. July, 2016. A family video.
Путешествие к мысу Flattery - северо-западной точке континентальных США.
We had a wonderful day trip here on Independence Day, 2016.
Four hours of driving time from Seattle, the small town of Neah Bay serves as the welcoming gates to stunning wilderness beach hikes, incredibly history, and one of the best short hikes in the country. The population of Neah Bay, located on the Makah Reservation is just 865, but it has certainly seen its share of visitors from around the world.
We used State Highway 112, one of the nation's National Scenic Byways. It follows the shoreline of a glacial fjord (the Strait of Juan de Fuca) connecting Puget Sound to the Pacific Ocean. This scenic Byway meanders through a landscape formed eons ago beneath the sea, carved by glaciers and carpeted with forests.
Route: SR112
Length: 61miles
Drive Time: 1.5 to 2 hours one way beginning at either end.
How to get there:
Follow Highway 101 either east or west over the Olympic Peninsula.
If you are approaching from Port Angeles and Seattle (east), drive west on Highway 101 approximately 4 miles from Port Angeles to the junction of Highway 101 and SR112. You are now at the eastern entry to the Strait of Juan de Fuca Highway.
The road is steep and windy with may switchbacks, but the scenery is amazing with glimpses of ocean and cliffs through the trees.
Cape Flattery, named on March 22nd, 1778, by Captain James Cook, guards the southern entrance to the Strait of Juan de Fuca and is the northwesternmost point on the mainland of the continental United States: this is a fine point of distinction as Cape Alava to the south is actually the westernmost point. Here, however, the coastline is even more rugged. You'll hike above 40-80 foot sandstone cliffs in a dripping coniferous rain forest to look over sea stacks, surging surf, and deep coves on a narrow peninsula that juts towards Tatoosh island and its lighthouse. The trail is on Makah tribal land and you'll need a recreation permit, obtainable in Neah Bay, to use it. Historically, the Makah hunted seals and sea lions here, and collected sea bird eggs from nesting sites on the cliffs. Now it is a tribal nature reserve: keep your dog on a leash and pack out your garbage.
From the parking area, take the wide trail, a former road bed, into a lush coastal forest of western red-cedar, Sitka spruce, western hemlock, and red alder, a few old growth specimens among them. Descend to a boardwalk that wends its way through a boggy thicket of salmonberry and salad. The boardwalk transitions to a some circular paving stones and then drops on a rooty tread. You'll reach a narrow peninsula and find an observation platform on your left at the Hole-in-the-Wall Viewpoint. The cove here is bordered by vertical cliffs of sandstone and guarded at its mouth by a cluster of sea stacks known as the Kessiso Rocks. Flattery Creek splashes over a waterfall at the east end of the inlet.
Continue on the trail and enjoy two more observation decks that offer views to the cove on the north side of the peninsula. The convoluted coastline of low rocky islands and numerous sea caves is backed by sheer cliffs topped by the lush rain forest. Finally, reach the pentagonal observation platform on the middle claw of a three-clawed peninsula on the Cape Flattery headland. Look north and south at the indented coastline of coves, cliffs, fingers of rock, and stacks. Half a mile out to sea is flat Tatoosh Island, now part of the reservation and named after a revered Makah chieftain. The decommissioned Cape Flattery Lighthouse is visible. On a good day, the outline of Vancouver Island looms to the north. Look for seals and sea lions in the waters below or on Tatoosh Island if you have binoculars. Keep your eyes open for cormorants, murres, guillemots, and puffins in the churning surf or in nesting perches on the cliffs. You may even be lucky enough to spot a sea otter floating in the swells or a whale! The scenery here is just absolutely glorious!

WA, USA: I-90 Express Lanes (E) Seattle to Bellevue 2012.08.31
I-90 Express Lanes (eastbound) from Seattle to Bellevue (11.99 km). The express lanes are reversible and switch directions on a time-of-day schedule. Exceptions are made during special events.
This video begins at the I-5/I-90 junction and ends just east of the I-90/I-405 junction.
Also, this is the best lane-discipline I have ever witnessed in Washington State. Rare these days.
P.S. Sorry for the shaky camera. A bad mount and poor pavement quality isn't ideal to work with.

Cape Flattery Trail, Neah Bay Washington State, Makah Nation
Hike to the northwesternmost point in the continental United States. Here, where the Strait of Juan de Fuca meets the Pacific, Cape Flattery protrudes into a sea of tumultuous waters. A land of dramatic headlands, sea stacks, and deep narrow coves, Cape Flattery exhibits sheer rugged beauty. Scores of seabirds ride the surf and scavenge the sea stacks. Watch for whales and sea lions too. And the sunsets... they're simply divine.
Thanks to the Makah Indian Nation, the stewards of this land, a well-constructed trail leads to this remote corner of the Northwest. Start through a mist-drenched forest of Sitka spruce. Utilizing boardwalks and steps, drop to a series of promontories that provide stunning vistas of rugged Cape Flattery. At 0.75 mile reach the final viewing platform teetering on the edge of terra firma.
Admire the cape's abrupt contours of sea stacks, caves, and forbidding sheer cliffs. A hostile environment of strong currents, swift breezes, and frequent storms-all forces responsible for creating this stunning landscape.
But nature has a way of adapting to such brutal conditions. Look carefully at this intimidating world where sea meets land and you'll see life. Lots of life! Puffins and guillemots surf the turbulent waters. Murres nest in the fortresslike cliffs. Oystercatchers probe the tidal pools left behind on offshore reefs. Sea otters, once on the brink of extinction, bob in the protected coves. Whales can often be spotted farther out.
People, too, have adapted to this landscape, which is often draped in fog and receives over 100 inches of annual rainfall. Directly offshore is Tatoosh Island. Named for a Makah chief, this 20-acre treeless island once served as a summer fishing camp for the Makahs. The U.S. Coast Guard first constructed a lighthouse on the island in 1857. The current structure is automated. Now only sea lions, seals, and scads of seabirds live on Tatoosh.
The Makahs have declared Cape Flattery a nature sanctuary-an enlightened move for this wild world sitting on the brink of the continent.
Driving Directions:
From Port Angeles follow US 101 west for 5 miles to the junction with State Route 112. Turn right (west) on SR 112, continuing for 64 miles to the community of Neah Bay. (Alternatively, take US 101 to Sappho and drive SR 113 north to SR 112 and then on to Neah Bay. This way is longer, but not as curvy.) Just past the Makah Tribal Museum is Washburn's, where you can purchase the required recreation pass. Continue west on Bayview Avenue for 1 mile, following signs for Cape Flattery and Beaches.Turn left on Fort Street, and in 0.1 mile turn right on 3rd Street. In another 0.1 mile turn left on Cape Flattery Road. In 2.5 miles pass the Tribal Center. Proceed for another 5.1 miles to the trailhead. Privy available.

The USGS is systematically hiding key seismic data from US Citizens and the world to head off panic concerning the destruction of the US West Coast that is already underway and happening in slow motion before our eyes.
Rosanne sent this warning video:
Bonnie’s Dutchsinse video:
Rosanne’s video is an American Underground Army Red Alert! Warning message about what is coming to the US West Coast that everyone in the region is wise to heed before the crap hits the fan. Bonnie’s video includes a lot of information on how the USGS is systematically hiding and changing seismic data, so that researchers are thrown off the track in connecting the dots for drawing the right conclusions that destruction and devastation are coming to the region.
This article warns of a new supervolcano forming under China Lake, when in reality magma displacement is taking place throughout the region with many earthquake events striking below the 20-kilometer depth.
Everyone with the resources has been warned repeatedly to relocate away from regions west of the Rocky Mountain Ridge and east of the Mississippi River Basin onto the North American Craton where Terral03.com currently has four survival group programs with three in the Ozarks and one along the Texas-New Mexico border. Below we find examples of USBS trickery where smaller-shallower quake data is systematically replacing the original information. Earthquakes are striking below the 20-kilometer depth all the way from the Seattle area of Washington State south into Mexico and everywhere in between and in patterns pointing to destruction coming to the entire region later in the timeline.

MAKING CONTACT WITH ALIENS? ????????The Very Large Array(VLA), New Mexico ???? Full Time RV Living
MAKING CONTACT WITH ALIENS? ????????The Very Large Array, New Mexico ???? Full Time RV Living We were traveling through New Mexico and Josh has always wanted to visit the Very Large Array. We camped out at a picnic area on Highway 66. It was such a quiet spot it was eerie. We had a nights rest back in the cold weather. And headed off in the morning to the Very Large Array located on the Plains of San Agustin, 50 miles west of Socorro, New Mexico.
Josh loves science, physics, and space so he has been wanting to see the Very Large Array for a long time. It is a very famous sight. Having been in many movies, and even in a music video.
The Very Large Array is used to gather pictures from space using Radio signals. It is the most powerful one of its kind in the world. The dishes are 92 feet tall and 82 feet wide and can be moved into various formations spanning a distance of 13 miles.
Wikipedia states The VLA is a multi-purpose instrument designed to allow investigations of many astronomical objects, including radio galaxies, quasars, pulsars, supernova remnants, gamma ray bursts, radio-emitting stars, the sun and planets, astrophysical masers, black holes, and the hydrogen gas that constitutes a large portion of the Milky Way galaxy as well as external galaxies. In 1989 the VLA was used to receive radio communications from the Voyager 2 spacecraft as it flew by Neptune. It is not, despite depictions in popular culture such as the movie Contact, used to assist in the Search for Extra-Terrestrial Intelligence

OUR STORY
We are Josh and Kali from Seattle, Washington. In 2015 we decided to change our lives. We sold everything we owned bought a RV and a truck starting living in our RV full time in 30 days! Full time rv living was a major change for us. We hadn't made any plans to change to this rv life until one day it hit us we couldn't have the American Dream and travel to. Choosing to travel meant downsizing our life and becoming minimalists. It was the BEST decision we have ever made. Now we plan to travel non-stop in our 33ft. fifth wheel full time. Join the adventure as we RV across the United States (US)

Santa Monica Pier to Death Valley - this place called California - YouTube
From LA or specifically Santa Monica Pier to Death Valley Junction is some 277 miles or to Zabriskie Point 302 miles but it seems like worlds apart.
California is large and diverse...
California's diverse geography ranges from the Pacific Coast in the west, to the Sierra Nevada in the east – from the Redwood–Douglas fir forests of the northwest, to the Mojave Desert areas in the southeast. The center of the state is dominated by the Central Valley, a major agricultural area. California contains both the highest and lowest points in the contiguous United States (Mount Whitney and Death Valley), and has the 3rd longest coastline of all states (after Alaska and Florida). Earthquakes are a common occurrence because of the state's location along the Pacific Ring of Fire: about 37,000 are recorded annually, but most are too small to feel.
At least half of the fruit produced in the United States is now cultivated in California, and the state also leads in the production of vegetables. Other important contributors to its economy include aerospace, education, manufacturing, and high-tech industry. If it were a country, it would be the 8th or 9th largest economy in the world.
