Black Forest Waterfall Photography
I went out looking for a waterfall and I found a wasserfall in the black forest. I've had the Black Forest here in Germany on my radar for a while. I've always liked the idea of trying to find nature in places in Europe as there is always so much of a focus here on the cities. So, The Black Forest seemed like a cool place to do some exploration and take some photos of nature. Today, I really wanted to get in a rental car and go explore some of the waterfalls, or wasserfalls as they're called in German. So, today's vlog starts in Freiburg - kind of the capital of the Black Forest - and takes me to Basel, Switzerland to pick up my rental car. After picking up the car, I head back out into the Black Forest to do some exploring and photography. I had two choices of black forest waterfalls to shoot. One of them is a pretty well know spot, the other is this random one called Falher Waterfall. The only problem was that I wasn't entirely sure of the location of Falher Waterfall and I couldn't find info online. But, I did find an image that was GPS tagged, so I went out on a whim anyways. Luckily, I found the waterfalls! And, though they might not be the biggest waterfalls in the Black Forest, I'd be surprised if I could find one that's more photogenic. I had such a fun time photographing Falher Waterfall. It's more than one fall, but like a series of falls tumbling through the forest. I loved it, and think I got some cool images out of it as well. Tomorrow, I've got another vlog from here in Germany's Black Forest. I might not take pictures tomorrow, but I'm going to try to find some Black Forest Cake! Instagram: -- The FB community:
Driving through Black Forest (HOCHSCHWARZWALDSTRASSE)
The name Schwarzwaldhochstraße was first used in 1930 after the completion of the section of road between Hundseck and Untersmatt made access to the high Black Forest easier. In order to draw the growing number of tourist cars to the highland hotels, the roads in the high valleys were collectively named as a holiday route. Under the Third Reich, further construction was done for strategic reasons, including finishing the uncompleted stretch between Ruhestein and Alexanderschanze through a nature reserve between 1938 and 1941. The entire route from Baden-Baden to Freudenstadt was completed in 1952. Driving from Buehlertal to Freudenstadt.

Doyle Lawson Bluegrass Festival 2011
On May 6-7 Cliff and I attended the Doyle Lawson & Quicksilver Bluegrass Festival in Denton, NC. I'm just starting to delve into the world of bluegrass, and had a really fantastic time!!!
We hauled the little Muncy Trailer behind the VW Beetle and camped out for two nights. The festival was hosted by Denton Farm Park, and along the way we explored the grounds and took some pictures.
All in all - a great trip, with some great memories made!
