It is the prefecture of the Puy-de-Dôme department. Olivier Bianchi is its current mayor. Clermont-Ferrand sits on the plain of Limagne in the Massif Central and is surrounded by a major industrial area. The city is famous for the chain of volcanoes, the Chaîne des Puys surrounding it.     The Stade Marcel-Michelin is a stadium located in Clermont-Ferrand, France. It was inaugurated in 1911 and belongs to the rugby union club ASM Clermont-Auvergne. It is named after Marcel Michelin, manager of the Michelin tire group and founder of the sports club Association Sportive Michelin . The club has since been renamed AS Montferrand, with the rugby club known as ASM Clermont-Auvergne. Even though the stadium is the property of the ASM Clermont-Auvergne club, it was built on a plot rented as part of an emphyteutic lease belonging to the Michelin tire firm.
