  • 1. Castel Savoia Gressoney Saint Jean
    The Savoy Castle Alpine Botanical Garden is an alpine botanical garden located at 1350 meters altitude on the grounds of Savoy Castle, Gressoney-Saint-Jean, Aosta Valley, Italy. It is open daily in the warmer months. The garden was established in 1990 within the castle's park, and is operated by the government of Autonomous Region Aosta Valley. The garden focuses on the aesthetic appearance of its species which are planted in rocky beds. Species include Aquilegia alpina, Arnica montana, Epilobium angustifolium, Gentiana, Leontopodium alpinum, Lilium martagon, Rhododendron ferrugineum, Saxifraga, Sempervivum arachnoideum, Sempervivum montanum, and Trollius europaeus.The park was created in 1898 by Queen Margherita of Savoy.

    The Sacra di San Michele, sometimes known as Saint Michael's Abbey, is a religious complex on Mount Pirchiriano, situated on the south side of the Val di Susa in the territory of the municipality of Sant'Ambrogio di Torino, in the Metropolitan City of Turin, Piedmont region of northwestern Italy. The abbey, which for much of its history came under Benedictine rule, is now entrusted to the Rosminians. A special regional law acknowledges it as the Symbolic monument of the Piedmont region. This monumental abbey served as one of the inspirations for the book The Name of the Rose by Umberto Eco.
