Grindrod is an unincorporated designated place in the North Okanagan Regional District, British Columbia, Canada. The community is located on the western bank of the Shuswap River, north of Enderby, and is sometimes considered to be part of the Shuswap Country. The population was 1,453 at the 2011 census.

Salmon Arm is a city in the Shuswap Country of the Southern Interior of the Canadian province of British Columbia that has a population of 17,706 . Salmon Arm became a city on May 15, 1905 and is now the location of the head offices of the Columbia-Shuswap Regional District. It is a tourist town in the summer, with many beaches, camping facilities and house boat rentals. Salmon Arm is home to the longest wooden wharf in North America.

Lake Joe Pool 10K, 5K & 1 Mile Fun Run will celebrate its 25th anniversary on October 8th, 2011. 2,500 participants are anticipated as the Grand Prairie Metro Rotary Club (Texas) strives to raise $50,000 for local charities.

The School Challenge is a competition among area elementary and middle schools to see who can bring out the most runners. The winning school wins $500 with $200 & $100 going to second and third places. Lots of healthy fun for the entire family!
