Hochfilzen is a town in the Austrian state of Tyrol in the Kitzbühel district. It is located at 47°28′N 12°38′E, in the Pillersee valley 5 km east of Fieberbrunn. Population was 1,147 in 2016. It is a popular winter sports resort, especially for cross country skiing. In 2017 it hosted the Biathlon World Championships, as it also did in 2005, 1998 and 1978, and it is a regular venue in the annual IBU World Cup series.

Swarovski is an Austrian producer of lead glass headquartered in Wattens, Austria. The company is split into three major industry areas: the Swarovski Crystal Business, that primarily produces lead glass jewelry and accessories; Swarovski Optik, which produces optical instruments such as telescopes, telescopic sights for rifles, and binoculars; Tyrolit, a manufacturer of grinding, sawing, drilling, and dressing tools, as well as a supplier of tools and machines. Today, Swarovski Crystal Business is the highest grossing business unit with a global reach of approximately 2,800 stores in around 170 countries, more than 27,000 employees, and a revenue of about 2.6 billion euros .

2. Krimml Falls (Krimmler Wasserfalle) Krimml
The Krimml Waterfalls , with a total height of 380 metres , are the highest waterfall in Austria. The falls are on the Krimmler Ache river and are located near the village of Krimml in the High Tauern National Park in Salzburg state.

Trucks covered on Austrian road buried in 13ft of snow

Anthony Gibbon, from Wales, recorded the lorry in the ski resort of Ischgl in western Austria on Monday. In the short clip a lorry can be seen driving through the deep snow to make a pathway. Mr Gibbon said he and his family had to wait two hours for the road to be cleared fully but that his two children 'were laughing and enjoying the snow.' Local media have reported that the extreme weather conditions have affected locals and tourists in the area with up to 17,000 people cut off from the outside world.

Close to Salzburg the Skicircus Saalbach-Hinterglemm, Fieberbunn, Leogang became the largest ski resort in Austria in 2016. We stopped by at all 3 municipalities and searched for fun things to do in the snow.

Within just one week we went skiing (Kristin learned to ski here within 3 days), sledding, snowshoeing, cross country skiing in combination with rifle shooting, schnapps tasting and we ate all the delicious Austrian food in Salzburg & Tyrol :)
