Itter Castle is a 19th-century castle in Itter, a village in Tyrol, Austria. During World War II, it was turned into a Nazi prison for French VIPs and was the site of an extraordinary instance of the U.S. Army, German Wehrmacht, Austrian Resistance, and the prisoners themselves fighting side-by-side against the Waffen-SS in the Battle for Castle Itter.

1. Salt Mine Hallein Hallein
The Hallein Salt Mine, also known as Salzbergwerk Dürrnberg, is an underground salt mine located in the Dürrnberg plateau above Hallein, Austria. The mine has been worked for over 7,000 years since the time of the Celtic tribes and earlier. It helped ensure nearby Salzburg would become a powerful trading community. Since World War I, it has served as a mining museum, known for its long wooden slides between levels.

Monday June 19, 2017. After leaving our campground in Abtenau, we head up a mountain road which takes us to an elevation of about 4,300 feet above sea level. We stopped for lunch at a ski resort before heading down the other side to our next campsite on Lake Wolfgangsee. For the next two days, we are camping right next to the lake on the edge of the town of St. Wolfgang, Austria.

Highlights of our visit to Austria skiing in deep powder snow following huge snowfall. Staying in Soll in Hotel Tyrol with Crystal Ski. Skiwelt is the second largest ski area in Austria and is massive with access to Brixen im Thale, Ellmau, Going, Hopfgarten, Itter, Kelchsau, Scheffau, Söll and Westendorf and Kitzbuhel. Absolutely fantastic conditions! Learning to edit with FCPX - experimenting with colour grading.

Contiki experience - Ski Trip at Hopfgarten, Austria

Early last year, I went skiing with Contiki in Hopfgarten Austria for a week. I always wanted a Contiki experience ever since the days I was an undergrad.

It was part of a solo trip I made travelling to London, Salzburg and Amsterdam. It was my first time in Europe and first time experiencing winter and seeing snowfall. I'll probably get around to editing the videos from that trip. Yay procrastination lol. The video here just gives people interested in their ski tours something of a preview to the Contiki experience. (:

Here is a mash up from my 2nd Contiki trip escaping into the mountains!
Had to do so many edits, and got a bit of motion sickness testing out the video on Oculus but it turned out ok in the end. Best watched on a smartphone, ipad or tablet.
