Alba Longa was an ancient Latin city in Central Italy, 19 kilometres southeast of Rome, in the Alban Hills. Founder and head of the Latin League, it was destroyed by the Romans around the middle of the 7th century BC, and its inhabitants were forced to settle in Rome. In legend, Romulus and Remus, founders of Rome, had come from the royal dynasty of Alba Longa, which in Virgil's Aeneid had been the bloodline of Aeneas, a son of Venus. Rome's patrician families such as Julii, Servilii, Quinctii, Geganii, Curiatii and Cloelii originated in Alba Longa.

  • 2. Lago di Tenno Tenno
    Lago di Tenno is a lake at Tenno in Trentino, Italy. At an elevation of 550 m, its surface area is 2.5 km². The lake was formed around the year 1100 following a large landslide that blocked the course of the river Rì Sec, which is currently the main tributary of the lake. In the southern portion of the lake there is a small island. The level of the lake varies over the years depending on the flow rate of the tributaries. In the years when the level is low this island becomes a kind of promontory. This area is protected by the Autonomous Province of Trento as a biotope.

    Lago di Ledro is a lake in Trentino, northern Italy. The lake is at an elevation of 655 metres , and its surface area is 2.187 km2 . Lake Ledro is reputed to be one of the cleanest lakes in Trentino and during the summer it reaches a temperature of 24 °C , attracting tourist with ita four beaches.
