Møre og Romsdal [ˈmøːrə ɔ ˈrʊmsdɑːl] is a county in the northernmost part of Western Norway. It borders the counties of Trøndelag, Oppland and Sogn og Fjordane. The county administration is located in the town of Molde, while Ålesund is the largest town. The county is governed by the Møre og Romsdal County Municipality which includes an elected county council and a county mayor. The national government is represented by the county governor .

    Grip Stave Church is a historic stave church in the fishing village of Grip in Kristiansund Municipality in Møre og Romsdal county, Norway. It is located on the small island of Grip about 14 kilometres northwest of the city of Kristiansund in the Norwegian Sea. The church is part of the Kristiansund parish in the Ytre Nordmøre deanery in the Diocese of Møre.With only one nave that is 12 metres long, 6.5 metres wide, and 6 metres high, it is one of Norway's smallest churches. The priest no longer lived in the parish after the year 1635, but regularly visited the island.     The Nesset Parsonage lies 3 kilometers southwest of Eidsvåg on the south side of Langfjorden in the municipality of Nesset, Norway. The parsonage is especially known for being the boyhood home of the writer Bjørnstjerne Bjørnson. His father, Peder Bjørnson, served as the parish priest here from 1837 to 1853. Bjørnstjerne lived in Nesset until 1844, when he moved to Molde and started high school. The rural community and nature at the parsonage in Romsdal had a strong impact on Bjørnson's poetry.The parsonage has been developed in a partnership between the Romsdal Museum as a museum-based consultant and the Norwegian Church Endowment , which owns the property. The parsonage is the municipality's millennium site.

    Åndalsnes Station is a railway station in the town of Åndalsnes, the administrative centre of Rauma Municipality in Møre og Romsdal county, Norway. It has been the terminal station of the Rauma Line since the line was extended to Åndalsnes on 30 November 1924. The station was designed by Gudmund Hoel and is located on reclaimed land along the Isfjorden. To get the line to the station, a cutting had to be built. In addition to a station building, the station has an engine shed and a bus station; the station building is next to a cruise ship port. It serves four passenger trains per day, and has correspondence by bus onwards to the nearby towns of Molde and Ålesund. The station is manned and features a chapel within a retired train carriage.

Kvernes was a municipality from 1838 until 1964, encompassing the whole island of Averøya, part of the Romsdal peninsula, and part of the island of Frei. Over time it gradually got smaller until 1964, when the 36-square-kilometre municipality was merged into Averøy.
