Pieve di Cadore is a comune in the province of Belluno in the Italian region of Veneto, about 110 kilometres north of Venice and about 35 km northeast of Belluno. Pieve means Parish church. It is the birthplace of the Italian painter Titian.With its strategic location, the town was a medieval stronghold with fortifications, called the walled city of the Veneto. The main sight is the Palazzo della Magnifica Comunità , built in 1447 by the eponymous council which then ruled the city. It has a merloned tower which was completed in 1491.

    The Ponte Vecchio or Ponte degli Alpini is the covered wooden pontoon bridge designed by the architect Andrea Palladio in 1569. The bridge is located in Bassano del Grappa and was destroyed many times, the last time in World War II. The bridge spans the river Brenta. The Brenta river was an important means of communication in the 18th century from the mountains of Grappa to Venice.
