More than 100 years ago, Dutch aviation pioneer Anthony Fokker caused a stir in the city of Haarlem by flying a few laps over it in his primitive aircraft de Spin (the Spider). Fokker was the first to see what we're now accustomed to: The Netherlands From Above.

Nederland telt ruim 700 kastelen, buitenplaatsen en landgoederen en dat is nog altijd een goed bewaard geheim. Deze typisch Nederlandse historische huizen en prachtige tuinen zijn veelal door 17e- en 18e-eeuwse kooplieden en adel ontwikkeld. Ze vloeien voort uit dezelfde rijkdom en weelde die ook de wereldberoemde schilderijen van het Rijksmuseum in Amsterdam en het Mauritshuis in Den Haag hebben voortgebracht. NBTC Holland Marketing zet in de storyline kastelen en buitenplaatsen de mooiste musea, hotels, gebieden en routes in de schijnwerpers. Ze vertellen samen het verhaal van indrukwekkende tuinen, historische interieurs met waardevolle collecties en beroemde bewoners en gasten uit de geschiedenis. 3 dagen verken ik de Schotse Hooglanden. De stad Inverness wordt ook wel de hoofdstad van de hooglanden genoemd, vanuit daar ga ik hiken, dolfijnen spotten met een RIB, kanoën, fietsen, een cruise maken over Loch Ness, whiskey proeven en natuurlijk.... de kilt van een heuse Schot omhoog tillen...
