Sør-Varanger is a municipality in Finnmark county, Norway. The administrative centre of the municipality is the town of Kirkenes. Other settlements in the municipality include the villages of Bjørnevatn, Bugøynes, Elvenes, Grense Jakobselv, Hesseng, Jakobsnes, Neiden, and Sandnes. Located west of the Norway–Russia border, Sør-Varanger is the only Norwegian municipality that shares a land border with Russia, with the only legal border crossing at Storskog. 1. Soviet Liberation Monument Kirkenes
The Winter War was a military conflict between the Soviet Union and Finland. It began with a Soviet invasion of Finland on 30 November 1939, three months after the outbreak of World War II, and ended three and a half months later with the Moscow Peace Treaty on 13 March 1940. The League of Nations deemed the attack illegal and expelled the Soviet Union from the organisation. The conflict began after the Soviets sought to obtain some Finnish territory, demanding among other concessions that Finland cede substantial border territories in exchange for land elsewhere, claiming security reasons—primarily the protection of Leningrad, 32 km from the Finnish border. 2. Steilneset Memorial Vardo
The Steilneset Memorial is a monument in Vardø, Norway, commemorating the trial and execution in 1621 of 91 people for witchcraft. The memorial was designed by artist Louise Bourgeois and architect Peter Zumthor and was opened in 2011. It was Bourgeois' last major work.

Jørpeland is a city in the municipality of Strand in the county of Rogaland, Norway. Jørpeland is located just northeast of the city of Stavanger on the center region of Rogaland. The city has a population of 6,282 as of 1 January 2012. Jørpeland became a city by the municipal on 1 April 1998. Jørpeland is also known as Pulpit Rock City, because Jørpeland is the representant of Preikestolen, which attracts tourists worldwide.

Attractions

Jørpelands Brug is a building from 1883, which is located in Vågen, Jørpeland. Jørpeland also has tourist information, liquor store, a cultural center (Torghuset), a harbor in Vågen with boardwalk, various restaurants and grocery stores. Jørpeland also has a golf course just outside the city, as well some campsites.

The city has also some good beaches for bathing and sport activities. Most notably are Barkavika and Nordlys. Barkavika has its own two Volleyball courts, while Nordlys has a playground right next to the beach.

Jørpeland has an annual tradition festival, called Strandadagene, arranged first weekend of June.

Kayaking through the Nærøyfjord.

The Nærøyfjord (or Nærøyfjorden) is a fjord in the municipality of Aurland in Sogn og Fjordane, Norway. The narrow fjord is a branch of the large Sognefjord, and it is featured on the Norway in a Nutshell daytrips for tourists. The 18-kilometre (11 mi) long fjord is only 500 metres (1,600 ft) wide in some parts.

The river Nærøydalselvi flows down the valley Nærøydalen into the fjord at the village of Gudvangen, near the highway E16. The village of Bakka and the Bakka church are located on the west shore of the fjord.

Since 2005, the Nærøyfjord has been listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. It has also been rated by the National Geographic Society as the world's number one natural heritage site along with the Geirangerfjord.
