The American Staffordshire Terrier, also known as the Amstaff or Pitbull Amstaff/Pit Bull Amstaff, is a medium-sized, short-coated American dog breed. It is one of several breeds in the pit bull group. In the early part of the twentieth century the breed gained social stature and was accepted by the American Kennel Club in 1936 and should not be confused with the Staffordshire Bull Terrier of the United Kingdom.

    Apedale is a village in Staffordshire, England. The population at the 2011 census can be found under the Holditch of Newcastle-under-Lyme. The village is home to the 454 acres Apedale Community Country Park. The park is unusual for the area as it was previously an opencast mine. The area has a long history of mining, with the nearby former collieries at Silverdale and Holditch also having been redeveloped for other uses.
