Founded in 1982 by Steve and Linda Kuntz, the group provides educational programs on wolves, engages in wolf-related activism, and operates a sanctuary that houses displaced, captive-born wolves. It also fosters and participates in captive-breeding programs for two highly endangered types of wolves, the red wolf and the Mexican wolf. The Billy Frank Jr. Nisqually National Wildlife Refuge is a wildlife preserve operated by the United States Fish and Wildlife Service on the Nisqually River Delta near Puget Sound in northeastern Thurston County, Washington and northwestern Pierce County, Washington. The refuge is located just off Interstate 5, between the cities of Tacoma and Olympia. The 12.6 km2 refuge was created in 1974 to provide habitat and nesting areas for waterfowl and other migratory birds. It includes a protected estuary, salt marshes and open mudflats, freshwater marshes, open grassland, and riparian woodland and brush. Mount Rainier is the highest mountain of the Cascade Range of the Pacific Northwest, and the highest mountain in the U.S. state of Washington. It is a large active stratovolcano located 59 miles south-southeast of Seattle, in the Mount Rainier National Park. It is the most topographically prominent mountain in the contiguous United States and the Cascade Volcanic Arc, with a summit elevation of 14,411 ft .Mt. Rainier is considered one of the most dangerous volcanoes in the world, and it is on the Decade Volcano list. Because of its large amount of glacial ice, Mt. Rainier could produce massive lahars that could threaten the entire Puyallup River valley, and poses a grave threat to the southern sections of the 3.7-million-resident Seattle metropolitan area.

Chuckanut Drive is a popular day trip destination for Oyster lover. Chuckanut Drive's Taylor Shellfish Farm sells fresh oysters and other seafood that you can take home with you or enjoy at the water's edge in their picnic area. You can buy charcoal there or bring your own.
There are also restaurants along Chuckanut drive that serve fresh local oysters. Some of the Chuckanut area restaurants have opened and closed in recent years so you may want to do some research online if you are planing to have a sitdown lunch overlooking Chuckanut Bay.

One of the main attractions to Chuckanut Drive is the fact it is a winding, narrow, and rocky coastal road. RV's and other large vehicles are not allowed on the southern portion of the road. If you are in an RV bound for Larrabee State park you need to travel to Bellingham and drive south on Chuckanut Dr. to the Park.

Lake Geneva is a resort city on Geneva Lake in southeastern Wisconsin. The Lakeside Shore Path is dotted with Gilded Age mansions, many built by wealthy Chicagoans. Nearby, the 19th-century Black Point Estate and Gardens was the summer home of Chicago beer magnate Conrad Seipp. The Queen Anne–style house has Victorian furnishings. Local beaches include Big Foot Beach State Park, which has trails and picnic areas.
