BR-116 is a federal highway of Brazil. One of the most important highways in Brazil and one of its longest, the 4,385 kilometres (2,725 mi) road connects Fortaleza to Jaguarão. Commonwealth Avenue is a 12.4 km (7.7 mi) highway located in Quezon City, Philippines, which spans from 6 to 18 lanes and is the widest in the Philippines. It is one of the major roads in Metro Manila and is designated as part of Radial Road 7 (R-7). The James W. Dalton Highway, usually referred to as the Dalton Highway (and signed as Alaska Route 11), is a 414-mile (666 km) road in Alaska. It begins at the Elliott Highway, north of Fairbanks, and ends at Deadhorse near the Arctic Ocean and the Prudhoe Bay oil fields. It was built as a supply road to support the Trans-Alaska Pipeline System in 1974. The Guoliang Tunnel is carved along the side of and through a mountain in China. The tunnel links the village of Guoliang to the outside through the Taihang Mountains which are situated in Huixian, Xinxiang, Henan Province of China. Halsema Highway is a national highway in the Philippines. Situated within the Cordillera Central range in northern Luzon, it stretches from the city limit of Baguio to the municipality of Bontoc. At its highest point at 7,400 feet (2,300 m) above sea level in the municipality of Atok, it is the highest altitude highway in the Philippines. Himalayan Roads Located in India and Tibet, these roads are deemed as some of the most dangerous and deadliest of the world, mainly because they are built right into the face of the highest peaks in the world. Because these roads straddle the fine line between adventure and total disregard for safety, thousands and thousands of adrenaline junkies attempt to drive or bike their way through these treacherous roads. The Karakoram Highway and China-Pakistan Friendship Highway, is a 1300 km national highway in Pakistan which extends from Hasan Abdal in Punjab province of Pakistan to the Khunjerab Pass in Gilgit-Baltistan, where it crosses into China and becomes China National Highway 314. The North Yungas Road is a road leading from La Paz to Coroico, 56 kilometres (35 mi) northeast of La Paz in the Yungas region of Bolivia. In 1995 the Inter-American Development Bank christened it as the world's most dangerous road. In 2006, one estimate stated that 200 to 300 travellers were killed yearly along the road. The road includes cross markings on many of the spots where vehicles have fallen. Pasubio road is a military mule road built during World War I on the massif Pasubio in Veneto, Italy. The road winds between Bocchetta Campiglia (1,216 m) and the Porte del Pasubio (1,934 m) crossing the southern slope of the mountain, outside of the range of Austro-Hungarian artillery, with its spires, deep canyons and sheer rock faces. The Skippers Canyon Road, located in in the south-west of New Zealand's South Island, is today one of New Zealand's better known scenic roads and unbelievably scary as it’s totally narrow and different to manouvre your car. This gravel road, with a length of 16,5 miles, carved by hand by miners over 140 years ago is made from a very narrow cut in the middle of a sheer cliff face. It’s a road so dangerous that your rental car insurance won’t be honored if you drive on it.

Boring Roads - Never fall asleep

Boring Roads. Riding on this long road in Cali Colombia can the disastrous unless you had a good nite sleep. I never hesitated to pull over for a good cup of Colombian coffee which was helpful to avoid falling asleep on the road.
