Amphitrite Point Lighthouse is an active lighthouse near Uclulelet on the west coast of Vancouver Island in British Columbia, Canada, named after Amphitrite, the sea goddess and wife of Poseidon in Greek mythology.

Victoria is a British television drama series created and principally written by Daisy Goodwin, which stars Jenna Coleman as Queen Victoria. The series premiered in the United Kingdom on 28 August 2016 on ITV, and in the United States on 15 January 2017 on PBS, which supported its production as part of the Masterpiece anthology. The first series consisted of eight episodes and concluded on 9 October 2016. In September 2016, ITV renewed Victoria for an eight-episode second series, which premiered in the UK on 27 August 2017 and was followed by a 2017 Christmas special. In December 2017, Victoria was renewed for a third series.

The major Trial Island is home to the Trial Islands Lighthouse which is operated by the Canadian Coast Guard, continues to be staffed by two full-time lightkeepers. The lighthouse was constructed in 1906. The fourth order Fresnel lens from 1906 was used until it was replaced in 1970. That original lens is now on display courtesy of the Maritime Museum of British Columbia in Bastion Square in Downtown Victoria. In September 2009 it was announced that the Trial Island Light would be automated to cut staffing costs. The Oak Bay Heritage Foundation proposed Trial Island Lighthouse for protection through the Heritage Lighthouse Protection Act. 5. Sheringham Point Lighthouse Shirley
Sheringham Point Lighthouse is located on Vancouver Island, British Columbia, near the community of Shirley. Built in 1912 following the fatal wreck of the SS Valencia six years earlier, it is still used for navigation. The lighthouse and surrounding property is currently owned by the Canadian Coast Guard and fenced off, though the lighthouse can be seen easily from a trail beside the fence. As of 2005, the Sheringham Point Lighthouse Preservation Society is working to acquire the property from the Coast Guard and turn it into a public park.

Both the fort and lighthouse are managed and presented to the public by Parks Canada.

Admiral Sir Pulteney Malcolm was a British naval officer. He was born at Douglan, near Langholm, Scotland, on 20 February 1768, the third son of George Malcolm of Burnfoot, Langholm, in Dumfriesshire, a sheep farmer, and his wife Margaret, the sister of Admiral Sir Thomas Pasley. His brothers were Sir James Malcolm, Sir John Malcolm, and Sir Charles Malcolm.
