Klarälven is a river flowing through Norway and Sweden. Together with Göta älv, which it is called as the river has passed through the lake Vänern, thus regarded as an entity, Göta älv—Klarälven is the longest river in Scandinavia and in the Nordic countries and its Swedish part the longest river of Sweden. These two rivers also have the largest drainage basin in the same areas, 50,229 km2 including all the rivers that run into Vänern, of which 42,468 km2 is located in Sweden and 7,761 km2 in Norway.It emanates from Lake Rogen in Härjedalen, Sweden, and then passes through the Norwegian Hedmark, where it flows through the lake Femunden. The Göta Canal is a Swedish canal constructed in the early 19th century. It formed the backbone of a waterway stretching some 614 km , linking a number of lakes and rivers to provide a route from Gothenburg on the west coast to Söderköping on the Baltic Sea via the river Göta älv and the Trollhätte kanal, through the large lakes Vänern and Vättern. The canal itself is 190 km long, of which 87 km were dug or blasted, with a width varying between 7–14 m and a maximum depth of about 3 m . It has 58 locks and can accommodate vessels up to 32 m long, 7 m wide and 2.8 m in draft. Göta Canal is a sister canal of Caledonian Canal in Scotland, which was also constructed by Thomas Telford.

4. Dalslands Kanal AB Haverud
Dalsland Canal is a Swedish canal which enables ships to sail between Lake Vänern and central parts of the Dalsland and southwestern Värmland lake districts. The canal runs across the well-known aqueduct at Håverud and is a much visited tourist attraction during the summer months, drawing yachts, motor boats as well as canoeists.

This is a film where I brought together footage from province Värmland that I have taken for several years and made an film about its beautiful nature and what you encounters in these lands. This movie is also a kind of thankfulness to my father who passed away on 20 May 2012. He was a big wilderness person that among other things became Swedish champion in orienteering so he had great knowledge to move around in the woods with a map. He inspired me to be out in the woods since I was a little boy. A great father.
