The church is part of the Randesund parish in the Kristiansand arch-deanery in the Diocese of Agder og Telemark. The red brick church was built in 2004 using designs by the architects Arild Lauvland and Arne Åmland. The 1,400-square-metre church seats about 400, but it can be expanded to seat a total of 650.
