Central Park New York / Lakes
Central Park has several lakes, ranging from simple ponds to lakes both man made and natural. The main lake is the Central Park Reservoir, which since 1994 bears the name of Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis Reservoir. The lake is from 86th to 96th Street. The reservoir is also famous for the running track that surrounds it, and welcomes thousands of athletes every day.
There are also three other artificial lakes. To the south of the Great Lawn, The Lake is spread over 7 hectares and is built on an ancient swamp. To extreme northeast part of the park, at the height of the street 110, the Harlem Meer is located. Harlem Meer means Lake of Harlem in German, so baptized in honour of one of the first established communities in the region. Oak, Cypress and Beech trees surround the lake. The Harlem Meer is unique that its visitors are allowed to fish, with the condition of returning the fish that they have caught; the other great lake of the park is located on the southeast section of Central Park. This is the Pond. The Pond, whose form recalls the shape of a comma, allows visitors to this lake to tune out the noises of the city, and generate an atmosphere of calm in the heart of New York.

Air Breathing Fish Found in NYC Central Park
Fish that can live without water are found in Central Park.
An invasive species of fish that can breathe air and live outside of the water for days might be living in New York City's Central Park.
Known as the northern snakehead fish, the predatory species is native to parts of Russia, China and Korea, but it has reportedly been discovered in Queens and the Harlem Meer.
New York State has laws in place that ban the possession, transport or sale of the live fish and its eggs.
Park officials have put up signs that tell people who are fishing in the Harlem Meer not to throw the snakehead fish back if they catch one.
Melissa Cohen, the Department of Environmental Conservation fisheries manager, said that they want to let people know that this fish is in there, if you find it please do not return it to the water, and it also helps people become aware that there are things in the water that should not be there.
Reportedly the fish can breathe air and live for days out of water, while other reports add it can also slither across the ground from one body of water to another.

What To See In New York City - Belvedere Castle Is A Fun Free Place To Visit In Central Park
Belvedere Castle in Central Park is one of the fun, free places to go and visit in New York City. It's not one of New York's better-known attractions, but it's geographically located near the center of the Park and offers a good view of the Great Lawn area along with vistas of the buildings along both Central Park West and Fifth Avenue. The skyline of downtown Manhattan is also clearly visible as you look south from one of the three stories that offer viewing plazas. Belvedere provides the best and highest views of the Park and its cityscape. It's fitting, considering its name translates to beautiful view in Italian.
Belvedere Castle is easily accessible from either side of the Park at 79th Street. It's sits just above the Turtle Pond, where nature lovers often gather to view dozens of turtles that reside in their natural pond habitat (when weather allows, of course).
According to Belvedere Castle's official website
Belvedere Castle was a Victorian folly. Calvert Vaux, co-designer of Central Park, created the miniature castle in 1869 as one of its many whimsical structures intended as a lookout to the reservoir to the north (now the Great Lawn) and the Ramble to the south.
After decades of deterioration, the Central Park Conservancy renovated and reopened the castle in 1983...
If you're planning to go sightseeing in New York City soon,Belvedere Castle in Central Park should definitely be on your list of what to do and places to see.

Die Hard
Facing Christmas 3,000 miles from his estranged wife and two children, New York policeman John McClane (Bruce Willis) flies to Los Angeles bearing presents and hoping to patch up his marriage. Stylish and cool Hans Gruber (Alan Rickman) is in Los Angeles as well for the holiday season, but he's not there to give out presents. He's there to take more than $600 million in negotiable bearer bonds from the multinational Nakatomi Corporation, where McClane's wife Holly (Bonnie Bedelia) is an executive. When the takeover becomes hostile, it's up to John McClane to take on the terrorists with all the grit and determination he can muster--but not without a sense of humor.
