8. SOUNDBITE (English): Roxaina Hurlburt, Mercers Dairy
We've sampled vanilla ice cream and we were putting wine on it, so the concept was, if this tastes so good with wine on it, why don't we try putting wine in it ? And that was the beginning of the concept. And from there, we hired a formulation expert to come up with a way to make the wine stay in at the end of the process, which is the uniqueness of this product is that there is still an alcohol content, when the product is completed.

25. SOUNDBITE (English): Rodrigo Troni, Chief Marketer for Sabra Dipping Company
Well, what we thought is, hummus is becoming such a main stream product in America, so we thought: what is the most American of American things? And there is nothing more American than the American presidential election. And it was our way of saying, hummus is becoming mainstream and we want to share with consumers and customers, something that is very American but also made in hummus, so that's how we put those two things together. And we come up with Obama and McCain and then of course we thought, well Clinton should really be there because its only been a short time and we are in New York.

LEAD IN:

It's an opportunity to sample different styles of food and drink from across the world.
Mercer's wine ice cream was a favourite with visitors, incorporating the authentic flavour of wine into the frozen dessert.
Roxaina Hurlburt of Mercers Dairy says the idea for the ice cream came about through experimentation.
Produced in New York State's Adirondack mountains, flavours range from Peach White Zinfandel to Red Raspberry Chardonnay.

BEST street food in New York - NYC street food
Consider this your essential NYC food guide. What is your favourite street food? New York Street food is great and New York food carts are world famous. There are lots of food trucks, New York street food carts and New York food markets. The variety and selection of street food in New York is amazing. One of the best ways to experience New York is through the food carts and street food. In this video we will take you on a tour of the best street food options in New York.
You can find information about all New York Food Truck Events on the following website: We were fortunate enough to catch one of the food truck festivals. These were some of the street foods that we tried at the New York Food truck festival.
-The Mac Truck makes a variety of mac and cheese. Mac and cheese has gained in popularity in recent years. The Mac Truck make a great variety of flavours.
-New York pizza is an essential food to try. Where can you get the best Pizza in New York. Not sure, but the Neapolitan Express food truck located on 232 East 111th Street, New York. There are many other locations in New York. Check out the website for more.
-Lobster is not exactly a typical street food, but we were happy to encounter Cousins Maine Lobster.
The typical New York food cart sells hot dogs, burgers and pretzels. We tried an expensive and very average $4 pretzel. I’d suggest to skip it and save your calories for something more delicious.
The Biryani House Cart in the New York Financial District is a highly acclaimed food cart. I love Indian food and this New York food cart is what makes New York Street food so exciting. The variety and authenticity.
The Chelsea Market is an amazing food market in a repurposed biscuit factory in the Chelsea and Meatpacking district in New York. This is one of the best food markets / best food hall that I have ever visited, with a huge variety of street food and locally produced food.
If you love thick milkshakes and delicious hot dogs, then the Shake Shack is the place for you. We visited the original Shake Shack in Madison Square Park. This is where you will find one of the best hot dogs in New York and one of the best milkshakes in New York

How Ray's Candy Store Became The Most Legendary Shop In NYC For Late-Night Munchies | Legendary Eats
Ray's Candy Store, an East Village institution, has served late-night munchies since 1974. Owner Ray Alvarez, 86, is well known for his deep-fried Oreos, egg creams, milkshakes, and chili cheese dogs. The store has kept street wanderers and New York University students well fed into the night as they hang around Tompkins Square Park.
Cult-like customers have been raving about the shop for decades, saying it’s an “unchanged gem in a transforming neighborhood,” “an institution that has brought joy for generations,” and that “it was as good as I remember at 6 years old.” The family-run business continues to serve the same food since it opened and has had recent visits from Kim Kardashian West, Kendall Jenner, La La Anthony, and Food God, who documented his time there, saying, Everybody's talking about this place! EVERYBODY!
We visited the shop to get a behind-the-scenes tour, see how their late-night grub is made, and speak to Ray to learn how he turned his small business into a beloved institution.
